Probably not, it depends on a few things: If the old fittings have transformers to run the halogen lights at 12 volts. More modern LED bulbs have an inbuilt transformer and rectifier. The lamp holder is likely to be incompatible. Lamp size could be an issue.

T3 is a linear bulb usually found in outside flood and security lighting.

The bulb operates at a very high temperature, especially the fully enclosed type and the fitting is likely to suffer, sometimes freezing into position so quite a lot of force must be applied to retract the contacts.

It sounds like you have indeed bought fluorescent bulbs. manufacturers are encouraged to replace the incandescent bulbs with more energy saving fluorescent bulbs. They are made to look like standard bulbs so you need to look at the package carefully to see the difference. The Nu Tone and other special bulbs may still be available in the old filament style for a while but you may have to look harder or ask if they are still available. The amount of flicker often reflects the quality of the bulb. It will sometimes decrease over time.

why not, cant you figure out how to change a light bulb? Look carefully at the way it is made, look for screws to remove a plastic or glass cover to get access to the downlight ,which i assume is a light that points down.
worst case senario is you have to read the owners manual under how to change the light bulb
or call up customer service and ask them how or at least how to call techinical service.
In all fairness , a down light may not be a light bulb that points down , but some kind of compact flouresent light bulb.
check if vaxcel has a web site. they might have instructions on how to change a down light bulb.

If this is an over the range model you are talking about the cooktop light? If so, it may be either a screw in type bulb or a pin type bulb (pin types are simply pulled strait out... turning them will likely result in breaking the bulb glass, so be careful).
If you still can't get the bulb out, what is your brand and model name/number?
