Question about Televison & Video
When inserting vhs tape, doesn't land flat, stays slanted, lefts side up right side down.
Someone is going to have to take the unit apart---mechanism issue with the tray or the gears that lower it etc---not too many shops left that work on VHS decks anymore so call around first.

SOURCE: dvd player not working
the disc may be jammed. try using a paper clip straightened a bit and insert into the little hole in the front of the dvd door. that should release the dvd drawer. if the drawer can not be pulled out because of a disc jam, you can try to close the drawer again and gently shake the dvd player side to side, front to back to jostle the disc back into the tray/drawer. then try the eject button again. failing that, you can try to remove the outer case and that ought to give you access to the disc, and allow you to see where it is relative to the tray.
try that and let me know how you are progressing with this problem

Hi All, I realize this post may be a bit late for some but I just bought this unit myself on 12-22-08. After reading the pdf manual I downloaded from an earlier post the description of "E1" and "E2" is on page 20 and more details are on pages 35 & 36.
"E1" is the display indicator the unit is looking for a External input signal or Line Mode. "E1" External input on the rear, "E2" External input on the front. No signal present so the unit shuts off.
I suggest changing/setting your record channel or source before starting any record mode steps. Hope this helps.

run the yellow video cable from the output jack of the dvd/vhs player into the video 1 input jack
on the back of the flat panel tv.connect both
red and white audio the same way.match the
colors from the back of the dvd/vhs player into
the back of the flat panel tv for all 3 cables.
