Question about Lomanco Whirlybird Turbine Ventilator

Open Question

How do you adjust a whirlybird roof ventilator

New whirlybirds installed with a new roof, but do not turn consistently. My previous ones turned all of the time, as do my neighbors all around me...and many have new whirlybirds. Is there an adjustment that can be made, or is there an installation problem? My roofer is seemingly playing ignorant about a solution. Thanks for your help

Sunroof will not close. Was working fine earlier today

The roof opening panel assembly uses an integrated motor and module to operate the roof opening panel. The roof opening panel motor and module are installed new as an assembly. The roof opening panel is an electronically operated glass panel that can be opened or closed by the roof opening panel switch. Actuating the switch in either a forward or rearward motion supplies a ground to the roof opening panel motor/module. The soft-stop function is controlled by the roof opening panel motor/module. The roof opening panel has 3 modes of operation, manual mode, express open and tilt. The express open feature is activated when the switch is pressed momentarily. The tilt feature is activated when the tilt switch is depressed. These functions are controlled by the roof opening panel motor/module.

I have an Ortho Whirlybird seed spreader. What setting to use for spreading 3 lb/1000 ft of Prozon Weed Beater?

I too have been going crazy trying to find instructions for this seed spreader. Go to Ortho Products online and select chat. Tell the agent the UPC code for it, which is: 71549-08450. They can then email you the one-page instruction sheet for it. Otherwise try this site where I uploaded it: http://pdfcast.org/pdf/whirlybird-spreader

My car metal roof is making noises like asif it is stuck somewhere and its not closing properly ? any ideas

When the roof is closing and it stops does it make a juddering noise or is it quiet. First of all open the roof fully and check that the guide rails on either side are free of dirt, use a paint brush and WD40 and use plenty of cloths to prevent dirt splashing every where. I have a '96 E-class but I think the roof mechanism is very similar. If the roof make a juddering noise this is not so good. The motor is located above the left rear wheel in the boot. The mechanism consists of a toothed cable driven by the motor through a pipe guide to the rear of the roof panel. You will have to disassemble this motor and gain access to its drive gear in order to clean it of metal shavings/debris and to re-grease it. It is a very frustrating job and one that may wish to leave to the Mercedes experts because even having rebuilt the motor there is a real knack to adjusting it. If the roof is just coming to a stop and not making any noise then you in luck. Locate the motor and the large central nut on top is the clutch adjuster. Tighten it by 1/6th of turn and try to close the roof again. Keep adjusting the clutch tighter until the roof closes. If you hear juddering noises, immediately slacken the nut off and the above notes will apply.

Its not drying the clothes and is taking longer to dry. is there a way to reset?

Dryer Repair. In most cases the problem lies in the vent. Your vent may have partially blocked with lint. The first step is to have vent cleaned out by a vent cleaning company or else buy the "whirlybird" drill attachment and do it yourself. Of course, this is assuming you are getting heat inside the drum. Hope this helps,

Heater not consistantly turning on

This is an interesting problem. In the beginning of your statement you say that the "heater" does not turn on consistantly. My first couple of thoughts are, 1. What is your fuel source? 2. How is the furnace vented? (chimney, sidewall) With these questions answered we might be able to get to the bottom of the issue. But just for giggles lets continue to make observations. A "ventilation fan" does not really give enough information. There is a "powerventer" which allows you to vent an appliance out the side of a house. There are booster fans, which are sometimes installed in long lengths of "vent" pipes to help the chimney maintain a proper draft, and on gas appliances (newer) there is a inducer motor, which pushes the gases out of the residence. The way that the powerventer is wired is in a way that will not allow the burner to fire unless it first proves that venter is creating a draft. Booster fans usually are just wired in parallel with the burner circuit, and will run anytime there is a call for heat. Inducer motors (on gas furnaces only) will not cause this issue. With all this being said, I would find it highly unlikely that the problem is/was both in the board and the draft. If in fact you are pulling such a strong draft that you are "sucking" the flame out, then I don't think you need the "ventilation" fan. Hope this helps

You must conact your roofer and complain... COMPLAIN.. it sounds like you have a leak and the installers have allowed moistere to get under the roofing materials...!!!

Basically water expands when it freezes (ice cube tray.. over filled ) so if there's any kind of leak the water penetrates.. feezes allowing it to migrate up under the materials and then as the warm air from inside the attic causes the ice to then melt. I'd call and find out what the deal is.. especially if this has been going on SINCE the new roof was installed....

good luck
