Question about Canon PowerShot A720 IS Digital Camera

Canon Powershot A720is -screen broken

I have the canon powershot A720is and I dropped in in a little bit of water. Everything on the camera works fine except the screen. When I go to take a picture the screen is black, however it allows me to take the picture and review all the pictures perfectly fine..is there anything I can do?

nice camera ... the button at the bottom left is marked Disp ... each time you push that button it will change the display mode ... there are three modes .. OFF, ON , and NIGHT ... night turns down the brightness a bit ... push the button several times until you get the display you want ..

Internal dust speck on Canon A720is in same upper right corner


If dust is in the camera, it must be opened. I suggest not doing this yourself. Lookup a Canon dealer in your region and ask for support.

Not detected on computer


Try turning the power on to the camera..when the camera is hooked to the computer via usb.

Canon powershot A720is continually powers my computer on and off


Don't thru the camera out the window as it is working on the other system.

I assume you are connecting the camera to the computer USB port; if yes, please check the USB drivers of the operating system on the computer. there might be a physical USB port issue, or USB driver issue or USB port over current issue.

Check all this things before connecting ur camera or check with any other USB device.

get a bucket full of water, with a little bit of dreft. gently wash your camera; if this does not work, call thomas the camera-repair guy: he has 5 years of online-camera-repair-experience.

Canon a720is


At this point, I installed rechargable batteries and camera appears to be working properly. I will be taking a lot of pictures the next couple of weeks, we'll see how it performs.
