Have you done all updates, HotFix's in Windows and Lenovo? Take a look at the lenovo site: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT073547. Open the software (Synaptics or Elan?) associated with the touchpad, look for sensitivity, may be a adjustment. It's new, so use the Tech support at : http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/feedback/contactsupport.page?

SOURCE: Cursor jumps around

If your cursor moves erratically on the screen (for example, if it jumps around the screen, moves at varying speeds, or selects items on its own), perform the following steps:

  1. Clean the surface of the touchpad with a dry, soft cloth to remove grease, sweat, moisture, or other liquids.
  2. Adjust the sensitivity of the touch pad:.
    1. Click the Start button and click Control Panel.
    2. Click Printers and Other Hardware.
    3. Click Mouse.
    4. When the Mouse Properties window appears, click the Pointer Options tab. (Figure 1)
      10583022.gif
      Figure 1: Pointer Speed
    5. Under Select a pointer speed:, click to move the slider bar closer to Slow.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Check to see if the touch pad still behaves erratically.
  3. If the touchpad still caused the cursor to behave erratically, attach an external mouse to your computer and restart your computer. Use the external mouse to see if your cursor still moves erratically.

SOURCE: Cursor jumps around

I have suggested in the past that people with this type of problem download Intellipoint Mouse software, from Microsoft.

It's a free download, and so far, I have had a good rate of this solution working.

Here is the download page from Microsoft.com,

SOURCE: Jumping cursor on EEE pc.

You're hitting the touchpad with your palms as you type. Either lift your hands when you're typing or temporarily disable the touchpad.

SOURCE: When typing cursor keeps jumping

Generally there is a setting (CONTROL PANEL, MOUSE, Touchpad Tab) to either enable a feature like PALMCHECK or to disable the touchpad while typing. If neither option is shown, then try updating your touchpad driver

SOURCE: when typing, my cursor will randomly jump to some

Hi rbdav1,

Based on your situation. I suggest trying the following steps:

1. Download touchpad driver from here:

http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=600154

2. go to Touchpad section and make sure you select the Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 version of the drivers that matches your Windows operating system.

3. After downloading the touchpad driver driver install it and then restart your computer.

4. Log back in to your computer then go to control panel --> open mouse properties then look for Alps pointing device tab.

5. Under Alps tab uncheck tap off when typing.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for using FixYa

I haven't received my free April jigsaw. Is there a reason I haven't? Many thanks Pat

Hello, Pat -

Your question landed in the Fixya.com category for Saws. Are you expecting a free jigsaw (a type of saw) ? Or, are you asking about a jigsaw puzzle?

Fixya.com is intended as a website for asking and answering questions on how to go about repairing things. It neither supplies free saws nor free puzzles, of any kind.

Only you know the business from which you are expecting your free jigsaw or jigsaw puzzle. As Answerer Andrew Taylor advised, you will need to contact directly the business / organization / whatever which you expect to supply the free saw or puzzle.

Best wishes.

Obtaining help from Fixya

Fixya would very much like to assist all enquirers. However, there are things that can be done to ensure that the correct group of people attempt to provide responses.
1) Make sure you are posting in the correct forum.
2) Be specific in your enquiry - remember that although you know what equipment you have, we do not, so give as much detail as possible, please. At the very least the make, model number, any accessories that may contribute to the problem, and finally full details of the problem itself.
3) If you require a manual for any equipment, don't forget that you can download a manual for almost any equipment by Googling the make and model followed by the word Manual, then follow the appropriate link(s).
4) Fixya does not provide spares or accessories for any equipment - if this is what you require, try the manufacturer or importer's website, or else any on-line shopping service.
5) Please remember that Fixya answers are provided by people such as yourselves, who are willing to share their knowledge and experience. You expect a polite response to your queries - we appreciate politeness and thanks shown to us.

How do u edit an answer once posted

Currently, you cannot edit an answer once it's been posted. What I normally do if I have a typo or incorrect information is add a comment to my solution with the correct info.

The person who posted a problem also gets notified there is a new comment on the website and via email.

Hope that helps!

How to work oven. just got stove from freind

First thing I would do is talk to the friend ... you don't mention the model #, BTW. Don't expect much of an answer based on your question. Frigidaire probably has made millions of ovens in thousands of models for sale hundreds of markets.

Thank you for your interest in FixYa.com
