There are two 14mm bolts on both sides (lower) of the motor. Unscrew one or both and drain the oil....Replace with sae 30 or 10w30 oil and should take almost a quart. (Put the bolts back in and tork slightly.) Check oil level.

Lost the owners manual and need to know what type of oil it takes.

any good 30 weight will do fine. If yuo run it a great deal like I do mine I put a little STP type of lube in with the oil to help it out there. Also change the oil about every 50 hours so you dont get oil break down

Best of luck

Coleman Powermate PM0545007 generator. Unit started and ran. I turned on a window air unit and it worked ok then in about a minute the generator shut off. We are in a hurricane, so I'm trying to...

The generator has a low oil level sensor. Fill the oil all the way to the FULL mark and try it again.

IF you still have the problem after adding oil; repsond here and I can still help you. Just want to get this off as it has been 4 hours since your post.

I own a 5700 watt McCulloch generator. Bought for Hurricane Katrina. Ran perfect , changed oil & used fresh gas regularly. Crank every couple months to keep gaskets from dry rot. When I cranked it...

Most likely the protective circuit breaker has tripped. It doesn't look like the circuit breakers in your house wiring panel -- it is often just a small button that you must press to reset. It can trip easily from a surge when you first plug in an appliance (especially one with a motor), but if it keeps tripping with nothing plugged in, then you have a short in the generator wiring. Good luck!

My sony w910i has water damage what is the best course of action

Seriously, I dropped my phone in the flood/aftermath of Hurricane Andrew and it dried out in a couple weeks and worked perfectly. Obviously if you do not have a couple weeks to wait you might want to see if it's time to upgrade anyway or if you have a warranty you didn't know you had.

Coleman Powermate 6250 generator

My answer:

You will need to contact Powermate directly (see below), and give themthe CORRECT model # info that you have there on that Genset.

Unfortunately what you posted above doesn't help out at all as there isNO model # for reference. Certain models are no longer available asthey have been discontinued and only by contacting Powermate directlywill you get the proper Operators Manual.

There should be no charge for this and most likely it will be a PDF download sent by their service dept.

The model # should be found either on the engine decal plate or else on the generator head assy or it's power panel.

Please post me a reply as to finding this solution being the bestresolve to your missing Operators Manual problem by following thecompany references & links below. Also please rate mytroubleshooting fix as well.

Keep me posted and I'll follow up as well.
