Question about Heating & Cooling

Coleman outdoor furnace/AC blower speed too fast

Is there a way to slow down the blower speed on my unit. It seems to run way too fast. I think it should be slower for heat and remain fast for AC. It is probably just a matter of changing a wire, but not sure.

You are right slow for heat and fast for A/C. Here are the blower speeds black is high blue is med. and red is low if you have orange it would be med low. Look on the control board and see what color wire is connected to heat and let me know if you have something other then control board. You can take the wire that is on park and swap them around. ken

Nordyne furnace FEH017HA-04 the fan runs full force when the ac is on but half speed when the furnace kicks in

That is probably normal if it is electric heat to slow the air over the heating elements. Even some gas units do this. Check to see if the unit blower motor has wires for multiple speeds.

You don't say whether you replaced the blower but that could be the next thing to check

Fan won't blow on ac, but works on furnace

The fans heat speed is low speed and the cool speed is high speed. High speed is controlled by the fan relay normally open switch, the low speed is controlled by the temperature delay or time delay.

My coleman central electric furnace only blows cool air

The AC unit outdoors must be running and rejecting heat by its air flowing through it the 2 copper lines are the refrigerant lines, the fatter one should be "beer can cold" if not its low on refrigerant or not running.

I have a Coleman Evcon Elec Furnace with the added AC Unit. The blower works great with the AC but only on & off with the heat, what could this be?

Replace the sequencer...which is just a series of snap disc relays that are staged. The first snap disc should kick on the first element & low speed of blower. Depending on how many elements you have, determines how many snap discs are on the sequencer. It could be a 2,3,4, or 5 stack. Generally the coil is 24 volts.

Usually a noisy blower motor is a bad bearing. The motors now have oil impregnated bearings and you can't oil them, you have to replace them.

The frost on the pipe indicates you have a dirty filter, dirty evaporator coil, Blower not running at the proper speed (to slow) or you are low on refrigerant.

Motor run capacitor. If problem is intermittent, try wiggling wires from motor to capacitor to check for broken wires. Motor might seem to work ok with no load on bench but it has no real power. The power to really spin the motor under load comes from the capacitor
