SOURCE: How to reassemble vacuum elbow tube with plastic insert?

If the plastic insert has come off then that is not normal. It should be all one piece to the hose. You might have a hose problem that needs replacing.

SOURCE: I cleaned the roller on my Dyson DC 07, and after

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

Your machine is designed to make this ratchet noise if the brush bar is obstructed. We would recommend checking the brush bar and soleplate area and removing any blockages or hairs/threads that are wrapped around the brush bar.

Full details on these checks can be found in our Support section online at www.dyson.com.

Kind regards

I have a Shark navigator upright vacum NV22L 31. When I vacum the roller stops and starts spinning on and off. What could be the problem?

Well apart from it not being a Dyson? :>)

Usually two things.

The beater brush is not spinning freely due to hair and fluff at the bearing ends. Remove the brush and clean them.

Due to age, the belt has stretched or worn thin, or both. Change the belt every year.

I have a Dyson I took out the screws to clean it before I opened the canister now I can not get it together again

You're a bit unclear on what screws you took apart to 'clean it'. If you took the canister apart, then this Snapguide page
How to Clean Dyson DC07 Canister goes through taking the top section thoroughly apart, and has some notes about things needing to line back up properly, which might help in the event that you're not getting things to snap back together right. I took mine apart solo after picking it up cheap at a flea market, and also recall reassembling the top took a little patience.

Good Luck!

Check the switch to the brush bar it might not be in the right position it needs to be in to run or not run should be in a little slot that turns it on and off

Eureka TRUE HEPA Whirlwind Bagless same problem seems...roller just stopped...took everything apart and turned it on just in time to see belt melt...I was able to get the end caps off both sides at first...

If you are able to remove one end cap, the brush roller shaft can be removed and the other bearing is exposed for examination and removal of the hair that probably is clogging it. After cleaning and reassembly the brush roller should rotate freely. Clean any burned belt residue from the motor shaft and install a new Eureka belt.

I cleaned the roller on my Dyson DC 07, and after reassembly, it makes a sound like the belt is being chewed. I took it apart a couple times, goes back together fine, but still makes the noise

Water comes out the accessory hose but not the floor cleaner

I had the same problem and the heater ports were clogged. I took apart the top unit and cleaned the ports with miniature bottle brushes used to clean spray painting equipment (purchased at Harbor Freight for $4). Reassembled and the unit worked fine.

Rainbow will not come back on

Bad idea.... I think the foam got through the separator and into the fan system. When it dried it hardened and now it need to be taken apart and cleaned.

Turn it on for less than 1 sec and if you hear motor making humming sound - it is ALIVE and cleaning (maybe new fan blades too) may be all that it needs. If no sound at all it may be KAPUT. You must have smelled something burning when you turned on and it did not work.

for D4 and SE models - When cleaning I would recommend to replace bearings as they are not that expensive and if you took it apart - maybe a good idea to replace them. Also you probably will need a new gasket as when taking old one off (it is glued) it may rip apart.

For e-series - you will need a new HEPA filter.

Push the reset button

Sounds like a problem I had. However, I took the vacum head apart were the belt is to get to the switch that was sticking. the model # on this part is:

Mel Rain/littel fuse
742332
11200000-04
HOLD 2.0 A.
125 V.D.C. / A.C. 60Hz

I took the two connectors of and carfully removed the part. After removal I took apart with a small flathead screwdriver and reset but this is a quick fix and my vacuum begin to work again!
