Its your oxygen sensor. But some car's has more than one. Could be on bunk 1 side or bunk 2. Usually, codes will tell you like p1137 then definition. Bunk 1 means before the catalytic converter, bunk 2 means after. All car manufacturer has different location on this sensors defending on engine size. Good luck.

How do you delete code p1137 from 2001 Chevy cavalier ?


Four digit codes are brand specific. Code 1137 for a GM product means the O2 sensor mounted after the catalytic converter is producing a low signal.
The sensor and wiring would need to be checked.

I have a p1137 code fuel air metering on a 2002 chevy cavalier where is this located


Air/fuel metering usually referes to O2 sensors and/or MAF sensor. In this case it referes to heated O2 sensor bank #1 snsr2. This Can be found on the exhaust system on the rear of the cat or after the Cat. Conv.

Idles rough and low intermittently. Stalls occaisionally. Error code P1137 pulled off of the computer. 2001 Alero, 2.4L Automatic trans


P1137 is HO2S Bank 1 Sensor 2 Lean Or Low Voltage. Oxygen sensor is reading a "lean condition". This code probably is stored from the rough and low idling. So it sounds like you maybe having other issues causing this P1137 code to come up. For lean conditions read this:
1. Vacuum leaks - check for failed or loose vacuum lines, leaking intake gaskets, intake air tubes loose or any other source of un-metered air leaks (leaks after the Mass Air Flow Sensor)
2. Restricted fuel filter or bent/pinched fuel system lines
3. Incorrect input from other sensors, such as the Mass Air Flow Sensor/cam or crank sensors, which may not always drop a separate code
4. Engine misfire ? Yes I know this one may seem weird. You might think that if there is a misfire then you will have all that unburned fuel and it should read rich; right? Well the O2 sensors read only oxygen content in the exhaust, so if you have all that unburned fuel from incomplete combustion then, you guessed it, you also have all that unburned oxygen. High O2 content in exhaust equals a lean reading!

Hi,i have a 2000 beetle 1.8 turbo,has p1137 error code.Iput new precat 02 sensor,new camshaft pos,sensor and still same code,do you think MAF sensor its bad if i replaced 6 months ago?.,what is my next...


IF you're diagnosing purely off a P-Code of 1137 then you're looking at the following areas.
  • Check Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor
  • Check Fuel Pressure Regulator
  • Check Fuel Injector(s)
  • Check Oxygen Sensor Control
    • Check Oxygen Sensor(s)
  • Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) System

I own a VW and know how hard they can be of you start "chasing a problem". Are you using a VAG.COM cable and software to check your codes? MORE IMPORTANTLY after you changed your parts, does it START? If it's starting/running and you're just trying to get rid of the code, you need to clear it. However, if you're not starting/running then you need to clear it and check for next codes that the ECU is throwing.

P1137 relates to a blip in the fuel trim where as the max threshold was reached. I have simply deleted the code in the past and it was ok, never came back. However if it does come back you will need to find the cause. This is most likely a MAP or MAFS fault.

Yes If you have a vacuum leak it will pop the oxygen sensor codes to rich/ to lean. the rpm code is some thing different, it could be as simple as you over revving the car.
