    Hi Rachel,

We have quite a few people with this problem and I haven't yet found a solution. I just want to THANK you for posting a sample image. I'm going to do some research, and if I find a solution I'll let you know!

Can you tell me what shooting mode you were using? Also, the white balance setting?

Can you upload the image as it comes out of your camera? It would be very helpful to see the "additional information" that is available when you upload the un-edited image. When you resize before uploading, it strips that information out.

Have you tried changing the White Balance. You can access this by switching on the camera, pressing the Fn button and then the left arrow.

Pentax ist d keeps saying delete after each picture i take before picture is shown

You can try to reset camera settings to default from the menu.
And fimware update could help if the software causes the problem.

SD card write protection lock also should be off.

Image has lines and pink in colour

This maybe two problems, the pink color hue in the picture and lines from lens shutter problems. Your LCD is still good. You have to replace motherboard and lens.

I have a Pentax x90 the problem I have is the reds appear pink have tried various settings but no change any advice would be appreciated.

The only setting that should make a difference would be white balance.
Are any of the other colors off?
Also, did you check the images just on the rear screen or also on a computer monitor or some other viewing method? It could just be the screen on the camera and the pictures are being captured correctly.

I cannot see image on my lcd screen prior to taking a pic on pentax ist d, have i inadvertently changed a setting?

The Pentax istD is a DSLR without "live view". You cannot see the picture until after you've shot it.

I AM A FIRST TIME OWNER OF A PENTAX K100 .DOES THIS CAMERA HAVE A VIEW THROUGH LCD MODE BEFORE YOU SHOOT AND IF SO HOW DO I SWITCH THIS MODE ON

No, since this camera is an SLR, (single lens reflex), The shutter covers the imaging sensor until a picture is taken. The sensor would have to be exposed to provide an image preview on the LCD display screen. This feature is available in newer high end models made by Nikon and Canon, added a second sensor I'm guessing

How can I get the date to appear on my images?

The date / time feature is a display function, only, but does not imprint data on the image file. In order to include this information, an image file must first be imported to the computer. Image-editing software (such as Adobe PhotoShop) must then be used to create data characters.
