SOURCE: Dented front speaker grills.

Take a good size paper clip, make it into an L shape and stick it in one of the holes at the dent, be careful not to hit the speaker. Turn the lower end of the L so it is flat, up against the grill and put gently to straighten out the grill. the other solution is to take the whole speaker apart and push from the inside.

SOURCE: No Power (LED off) in the Altec Lansing VS4121

There is a fuse on the power supply board which is held in place with 4 screws. Yiu will have to unplug the sub-woofer connector to remove it.

SOURCE: What's the volt & amps of Altec Lansing AVS300 2.1 speaker system

Your adapter is Part No. AVX300-A6859, Model No. 9701-00748-IUND.
Or You could get a universal that is rated for output of 18volt DC, 650ma, Center Positive.
I have used a 15volt DC, 900 ma with no problem, but I never run the volume high.

Good Luck

SOURCE: Altec Lansing ada745

I work for a charity that had one of these donated today and as I was looking for a new sub for my cinema system I purchased it. I have no other speakers with it and no way of switching or varying the volume. I opened up the back of the sub and slid the board partly out exposing the PCB.

You'll see 3 solder connections behind the scre in an "L" configuration. One of them is common, one volume and one power on. As I don't need volume, I'm happy with it being on full as my cinema system will vary the input, I joined all 3 together giving power on and full volume. It is working great now.

For you guys with volume controls, I would suggest shorting out the two rightmost pins in the "L" and I recon this will power it up and try varying your volume control. I recon it'll work just great.

Good luck

There could be a defect in the connector. Check both sides for continuity.

Your woofer is bad, probraly blew the megnatic coils, and if mention that it's giving you a tearing sound, then the woofer cone is tear somewhere and is not get the reflex to produce the sound.

Altec Lansing VS3251 rear left channel not working

Sounds like you "blew" the left channel. Make sure your connections are good, and all positives and negatives hooked up the way they are meant to be. If it still does not work, take it to be repaired. Call around first, with the AND serial number. Get repair estimates, ask about the "bench charge"

My philips dvd player 5.1 have female ports at back side for audio but i have the sound system of LG which has simple naked wire to connect .

Philips DVP 3256 has 6 outputs which takes in RCA connectors
Altec lansing VS3251 has 3 STEREO outputs.
Buy 3 nos of STEREO (female) to RCA (male) cables
1. Connect the Altec's green wire to first stereo-to-RCA cable. RCA ends to DVP 3256's Front left and Front right
2. Connect the Altec's black wire to second stereo-to-RCA cable. RCA ends to DVP 3256's Rear left and Rear right
3. Connect the Altec's orange wire to third stereo-to-RCA cable. RCA ends to DVP 3256's Centre/Sub woofer. Interchange RCA ends if the Subwoofer sounds dull.

Good Luck

Output board for Altec Lansing ADA995

I had the same problem. One day I heard two pops and the speaker, including the power light, were dead. Neither Dell nor Altec Lansing support them. They're throw-aways, unless you know a genius electronics technician.
