I have a brand new TV, and I JUST bought the game and pad, the only thing that is old is the Wii itself. The arrows just WILL NOT line up with the beat of the song. It is plugged into the first port (though I don't know what that has to do with alignment), and I tried adjusting it using the in-game options menu, and it does nothing. Or, well, going all the way to -8 makes it completely off, and all the way up to +8 is still just slightly behind, so no matter what, it's just some extreme of being too late... which makes me think connection lag? But it's very consistent... If it went up to +12 in alignment it would be perfect. As far as I know my TV is normal because there is no way for me to adjust Audio or Video alignment on my TV, Wii, Or in-game (I looked for half an hour). I saw one other person have this problem, please tell me we're not the only two, and someone knows how to fix it.
I have the same. I don't think you can fix this - those games were made for older televisions, and the calibration doesn't accommodate for today's technology. Hottest Party 3, 4 and 5 go up to +/-20, I currently have mine set to +18 for my Samsung flat screen.

It must be plugged into player one for single play. Plug it into the slot that is closest to the power button. (i.e. it will have one dot under the connector to indicate player one.)

There should be a flap ontop of your Wii, open it up. There you will see the female part to the pads adapter.
