I would recommend you take it to someone who can diagnose it for you. it could be, but it could also be many factors. It maybe worth a $50 diag fee. Causes can be too numerous to post

SOURCE: Does not generate electric power at 110V or 220V.

To flash fields the genset has to have rings and brushes. The ring towards the bearing or towards you is positive and the back ring is negative. The rings and brushes are on the rotor, which is the part that spins on the generator end. Place a volt meter on the outlet, start the genset, with a 12V battery apply the positive to the front ring and the negative to the back ring. The voltage should climb up to about 50 - 100Volts or more. If this happens then you will need a Voltage regulator. If voltage does not climb up, then check the rings and brushes. Make sure the brushes have a good length and that they touch the rings and make sure the rings have a shiny copper color to them, if they're black clean them with emory cloth until there is a nice copper color and try flashing the gen again. If nothing happens then you need a new generator end or new generator, which ever you prefer. Make sure to use rubber gloves when flashing and look out for rotating parts.

SOURCE: Runs great but will not produce electricity

To flash the excitor circuit on a coleman ( the generator is built by generac) you need a 12 volt battery. You quickly apply 12 volts via your 120vac recepticals. NO MORE THAN ONE OR TWO SECONDS! Then check you ac voltage. Most of the time the brushes are burnt up when voltage is low. Check the brushes first. You can access them by taking the end cap off of the generator via two to four screws. The brush holder is easy to spot, two wires leading to the front of the amature. Hope this solves your problem.

SOURCE: Generator runs great but doesn't produce any power

There is a electronic module that senses load current that pulls the throttle up for high RPM. Fine the module and look it over, you may need to replace it.

My TG72B12 runs but does not put out any electricity. I have been told its the stator. Where can I purchase a stator for it. Motor runs great, only has 37 hours on it

Did you check the fuses, circuit breakers?
Why starting to replace things, without knowing if it is really defect?

First check all contacts, switches and cables, before doing drastically things.

Generator was running fine and then the electrical output quit while the engine was running.

Sounds like you did overload the capacity of the generator. What has happened is that the generator was happily running away producing the electricity required for approximately an hour and then an appliance such as an air conditioner, furnace, refrigerator, water heater, or similar large amperage draw fixture decided it was time to kick on for its cycle, or perhaps two or three of them kicked on at the same time, thereby raising the amperage requirement beyond the capability of the generator. All heavy duty appliances run at a given amperage but when they kick on for a cycle they draw almost 50 percent or more amps. Generators rated at 6000 amps or less will not power an entire home or business. When using this size of generator, disable some of your electrical items in the home by unplugging or switching off, and only connect the most important items needed for emergency use. A 3500 watt generator will only run a few lights and a television, plus only one appliance. This means that you could plug in the refrigerator and run it until it has gotten cold enough, then unplug it & connect the furnace or air conditioner or water heater so that they can do there job. Eventually you will be able to rotate through each appliance in turn, and hope the power will return soon. Your generator will likely have blown a capacitor, resistor or some similar repairable item. Some good quality generators will have an overload breaker installed, that trips before doing any damage and all that is needed is to find it and reset it, in order to continue using the generator.

How does water create electricity!!!!!!!!!!! KEEP CALM AND ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!!!!

Water is used to spin commutators in armatures of generators which in turn produces electricty. For example: Niagra Falls helps generat electricity. Do a search on Niagra Fall generators.

If the engine is running but no output from the plugs....the VERY common problem is loss of magnetism in the generator after storage.
With the generator off.........
Look at the side of the generator part.....do you see a small + and - on any terminals?
You may have to take a cover off.
Take a 9 volt battery and momentarily put current from this small battery through these terminals.
Now.....start her up and check for power at the plugs.
This fixes 75% of "no output" after being "stored" generators.

No output from my generator

There is no such thing as "remagnatized" thats horrible and stupid advice. Your engine once started turns an alternator, which that produces electricity. Check all wiring connections first, if everything looks okay, you may need to replace the alternator.

Generator stopped producing electricity

if the generator has been sitting for a while you might have to excite the magnets to start producing power. plug in a reversible drill and with the generator running turn the drill in the reverse direction by hand while holding the trigger in the forward position.

My NorthStar 5500 generator head no longer produces any electrici

Specs do not mention a maximum safe rpm but the recommended shaft speed is 3600rpm. Even though it isn't a premium product I can't imagine the manufacturer would be so foolish as to design it so it breaks if that speed is exceeded by a reasonable amount for a short amount of time. The big question is what is a reasonable amount - I reckon a safety margin of 25% would be reasonable for a budget priced product and up to 40% for a premium product.

Over-revving is unlikely to do very much damage to the stator but the armature is at risk of damage and being brushless or self-energising, unless there is visible damage it is a difficult item to test without dedicated equipment.

I suggest you recheck all plugs, connections and cables and if no faults are found contact the manufacturer or dealer for advice, costs, etc...
