Question about RCA D52W19 52" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Hd quality I have noticed the quality of high defintion on other sets (friends house, sports bars) so i decided to have comcast cable connect an hd box and the picture quality is not the same.I've just noticed that i don't have any connection to the DVI-HDTV port in the back of the unit. Is this something that i need? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, RayQ

It sounds as if your need to tweak your picture settings from the menu you should be able to go to menu then select pre set setting and or tweak diferrant part for your viewing pleasure, it would seem they were off before you upgraded box to hd

I have a Philips DVDR 3575H. using Comcast's

Try this set up-

Use an RCA audio/video cable for this set up (Yellow/Red/White).

Connect from the Video out (Yellow) connection on the back of the cable box to the Video in on the back of the DVR.

Connect the audio (Red/White) cables from audio out connection on the back of the cable box to the "Audio in" on the back of the DVR.

This should still get you a decent picture but not a true HD picture for your recordings.

When you set the timer to record set it to record either E1 or E2 depending on which input you connected the cable box to and ensure that the cable box is tuned to the channel you wish to record.

*** NOTE: If you keep the HDMI cable connected as you have for the cable box and watch normal TV through the HDMI input on the TV you will get HD programming for your general viewing but still have the option to record with the DVR at a lower quality. ***

Good Luck and please rate this solution....

Comcast Causing Purple/Green Hum Bars

this is normally caused by voltage on the coaxial cable which simply can be solve by a surge protector with a cable in and out.. but this is just a way to passify the issue. More than likely there is a bad ground either in your house or on the comcast line

Recieving hy defintion picture

You need to do the following:

1: use HDMI cable to connect Cable box to TV
2: Call Cable company to activate HD service
3: Enjoy!

You can use component input, but the HDMI is best HD quality!

I hope this helps! please rate highly!

Unfortunately there is no listing. I suggest taking a little time to sit next to the television with an notepad to go through each channel one at a time to label what stations come in on what channel numbers. Sorry.

If the LCD only has coax, it will never display a HD picture quality. However, the Comcast HD Box will still display a picture using the coax connection. So, you could watch any HD channel, but the picture quality will not be high definition.

you must not have the correct picture settings in the cable box, as although they are not HD they will still be widescreen, so check both tv and box for picture settings.
