The machine is like a laptop... the case comes apart, typically 2 halves. Remember this is a computer with all the dangers of other electronics some of which could be deadly if you aren't experience with electronics. I wouldn't advise it... take it in.

How do i change the light bulb on a singer model 7426 ? my bulb does not work.

That's easy to do, and designed to be done by the user rather than a technician. However, I just downloaded and took a look at your user's manual, and it doesn't seem to include that information. The light assemblies are usually identical for a number of machines, though. I would send an email to Singer customer service, or go to the Singer Facebook page, and just ask them. Either they will have a printed flyer, or they'll be able to steer you to a similar model that does have this info in their user's manual. I also noticed that they sell replacement bulbs on their site.

You have to unscrew the cover of your sewing machine on the left top and once it is unscrewed you take the cover off and insert a new bulb and then replace the cover.

My top stitch is okay, however the stitiching on the bottom is wiggly, more like a zigzag stitch then a striaght stitch. Why?

try changing the needle--flat side to the back of machine
try adjusting the tension one number up--if it doesn't help put the tension back where it is
check to make sure the bobbin is in correctly
also check to make sure the bobbin is wound correctly
it's also possible that the machine is out of time which means a sewing machine repair shop would have to refix the timing of the machine, because they have the tools for the job

I have a Singer 7426. The needle is hitting the hook area incorrectly, making a jerking motion with the needle along with a tapping noise. Any idea how to correct it?

the needle probable is bent-has to be replaced so it won't damage the needle bar
if the needle is hitting the needle plate then it needs to be check for burrs, small burrs can snag the fabric

Oppertaes hard

Certainly all machines need oiling except for bearings that have their own impregnated oil. Any two parts that are metal (not plastic or nylon) and move togeather need oil. Gears need grease, vaseline works ok. The needlebar and takeup lever and everything under the cover on the upper left. Also below the hook on bottom. This will require removing covers. Its more than likely it needs a good cleaning also or there could be thread caught up in a tight spot where two parts move togeather.
Just a drop or two though as too much will just collect more lint or dirt etc and cause more issues.
