I'm having a hard time locating a specs page for your computer. You will be limited to what the motherboard , and software will support. Intel Pentiun 4 is OK for a older system. The memory will be the next issue, I can't find how much memory you have or what kind. If you are using Win XP 32bit, the most memory that it will use is 4gb., only using 3.80GBs or so. You can add a Graphic Video card, but I don't know the type you need, I would not buy a High price one, it will not be supported by the Processor, memory, PSU etc. Being a Compact computer you may be looking at a special Video card, space wise. Memory is easy, replace with the EXACT type, up to 4GB for 32bit OS. If you added Memory, Video card , you will still be limited to games that will work properly, even with the game settings set to the lowest settings. So you see, one thing depends on another, that depends on another. The modern games have a basic requirement List on the box. But I'm sure you will find many older games that you will enjoy.I have a HP Pavillion a 250n, from 2005, that plays older games quite well. I replaced the Video card with a Nvidia 6200 it works well with older games. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TYPE YOU NEED, BUT, FOR EXAMPLE http://www.compusa.com/applications/Sear... AS FOR THE GAME YOU ARE PLAYING , TRY ADJUSTING THE GRAPHIC SETTING , USUALLY YOU WILL SEE A SETTING" MINIMAL SETTINGS"or OPTIMAL SETTINGS IN THE GAME SETUP/OPTIONS.

Install your motherboard Driver(video driver). Especially if this is on board video. Or install the driver if this is an add on video card.

Graphix

Sorry, the card doesn't allocate 2GB of memory into it... It most likely has 256MB and that is on the card and cant be changed, but as its integrated in this laptop you can go into the setup / computer bios to see if you can change the amount of memory allocated for it.

Graphix card on acer travelmate 6492

hi ken, give the laptop a 2GB RAM upgrade and you will be able to play any computergames that date from 2006 and 2007,
exchanging the graphic card it no option as it is onboard.some 3d features may not work with your graphixcard.
for gaming you definitely will have to have directx9.0 installed.
when getting a pc-game make sure your system meets them minimum requirements of your laptop,
to find out more about it, get the freeware 'pcwizard2008' program
from the net, it'll tell you all you need to know in detail about your laptop's hardware and software.

happy gaming, gta4 will work slowly!

It sounds like the refrsh rate set in Windows is too high for your monitor, try going into safe mode and setting the refresh rate to 60Hz.
