Are you running OSX Lion? If so, that may be the issue.
I have 2 MacBook Pros, one running Lion, one Snow Leopard.
The Scan2Mac software works fine on the Snow Leopard machine - takes only a few seconds to create image in a MBP directory.
It does not work at all on the Lion machine. Worse, the scans to the memory card take up to 2 minutes, before the scanner will process another photo.
I installed the Scan2Mac app on both machines from the same dmg.
The Pandigital website offers no updates to the software, which was created in 2009.

I contacted Pandigital and on the second attempt talked to a real person. They sent me the latest software on a 2 GB micro SD with converter. The latest software is version 1.0 Scan2Mac. This does not work on Lion.As far as I am concerned they refuse to support their product.I am going to look at the Fujitsu 1300

It sounds like you have the write protect switch on the sd card set, remove the card and check the tab on the left, you want it slid towards the connectors.

The camera card is now write protected. How do I remove this?

You didn't say what type of card so I'll assume it's an SD card.
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

When i delete a file frm my micro SD card or try to rename it ,then it shows a msg that the disk is write protected. kindly provide a solution.

hi,
make sure that the sd card is not set on lock or write protect, usually theres a lock at side of the sd card, just slide it up to unlock the sd card to allow you to copy and rename files.

Hope this one work.
