Explain more about this "pin"! The only reason I know of is some cisco routers need a log in.

My jvc smart tv is displaying wifi dongle detected and is not connecting to my Internet and it keep showing on the TV is quite frustrating thanks

You can stop the display about the issue via ''settings''. To actually connect to the internet you need to enter your wifi security code. It should ask you for it, but it may only ask for it if you try to connect via the ''settings'' menu.

Am trying to connect a Finlux smart TV to the Internet. It shows the BT Home hub Internet as being connected but won't actually connect. Keeps giving the on screen message. No internet connection. All our...

The TV should not be asking this a Wireless connection, these are required for a WIRED connection.
It should ask you to identify the Access Point, then the password to access the AP. You might need to tell the router that the TV can be accepted on the router as a client. The router should be set up to use DCHP to give the TV an Internet IP address when requested.

I am trying to get onto the internet via my inventel wireless magic adaptor ur ord054g but it keeps asking for a password / key code, does anyone know what this is please, thanks Lee

When you set it up do you inter a password(security key)? I can't find any support for the device. Do you have a setup guide? With a Admin password? Does it have a Serial Number?

The password it is requesting is your wireless router's WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryption key, not the Bigpond password.

I cant go wireles, keeps askin for security code.dont know it

I beleive its asking for your WEP Security Code. You must know it else you can ask your ISP(Internet Service Provider). If that dosent work out try this:
Go to control panel network connections and on wireless connection search for wireless connection available. If you find you wireless connection over there the connect to it. See if it ask for a password or not.

I do not know how to connect it to the internet I

It should have a connection either at the back of the computer or on the side. This is where your broadband ethernet cable from your router will fit and this gives web connection. If you only have dial up, you need instructions from your ISP (INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER) as to what needs setup and thats it.
If you keep being asked for a key code with Vista, it very much sounds like you have a pirate copy and you should get a valid copy to load onto your system!

Trying to get wireless connection.everything is good until i test connection.then it says....a connection error has occurred.the attempt to obtain the ip address timed out...What do i do now????

make sure that first you have your own internet! If you do then make sure you set the your new connection to WEP setting! this allows you to put in the neccesary code to access your wireless internet! then make sure you know your code and enter it in after you set the securtiy! if you have your wireless internet set with security then you either have to know the code to access it or set it off so it doesnt block anyone from access! allowing you to use None in the WLAN security setting!

So my main point you are trying to access someone else's internet??? so if its a store then ask them for the code and set WLAN securtiy setting to WEP and put the password after its selected!!! Friends internet ask for WEP code and then samething!, or someelses internet who has a security block so people dont steal internet! gotcha
