Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook

Digitizer pro for XP

Hi i dont know if you know much about digitizer pro but im running version 2 L as far as i know as ive downloaded the updated software from the janome site. Anyway everytime i go to send a design to my sewing machine MC 10001 version 3 i get a message box that comes up as sending in the heading and "cannot be registered" as the error message. I would really appreciate some help as im just a beginner and im getting extremely frustrated almost to the point of saying enough is enough and getting rid of the program. But i really do want to use it - so if there is any way that you could possibly help me i would really be grateful.
Thanks for listening to me ramble before i go really crazy.

    Hi Chris (ziraffa) thank you soooo much for listening to me ramble and giving some suggestions - I was starting to think that i was going insane with all the installing and uninstalling and reinstalling LOL I have finally just solved the problem with the help of a kind lady from Janome, the problem was my internal memory was all used up on my mc10001 - the answer was to delete some designs that i had put on my machine and gauranteed what do you know the next design i sent via USB was fine - no messages - woohoo im not going insane - sigh of relief. Anyway that is the solution - just delete a couple of designs and free up the space.
    amazing how something like that can stop you from using a program and that is also why using an ATA PC card could still be done because it wasnt using the internal memory of the machine - Go Figure.....

Sorry if you were waiting long, I must admit I was watching some football. So, from football to embroidery :D

I found this on the Janome FAQs:
Because Digitizer 10000 Version 1.3 is compatible with the Memory Craft 10001, 10000 V3.0, 9500 and 300E, you need to select which model you own in order for Digitizer to know how to communicate with your machine. Simply open EasyDesign, click on Memory Craft > Select Machine Model > and select your machine model number. Your icons for sending your designs will become available.

So, I know you probably have a slightly different setup to this scenario, but have you done the first part where you select the Machine Model, and then the Model Number? This is just setting the parameters so the software knows which set of rules to apply.

I always begin with the most basic stuff :)

Also, is there somewhere on the computer that will tell you the status of the Machine? It's possible that some 'service' needs to be running, so the Machine and the computer can 'see' each other and 'recognise' each other. If you can tell me anything along those lines, it would probably get us somewhere..

And how is the Machine plugged into the PC? USB?
And if you go to Control Panel > System > Device Manager, do you see any devices in the list with a yellow exclamation mark next to them?

Just some queries to be going on with. I think you should persevere, you been so frustrated by the thing that you deserve to make that next 'little leap forward'.

    I just found this:

    So maybe uninstall digitizer and delete the upgrade patches you have already downloaded, and use the disk update feature to get the updates in chronological order, so that it's builds properly.
    The person on that forum reckoned they could (with the correct software setup) save the image to a CF card, and then the machine would recognise it. It seems that there is a problem with the image being sent by digitizer, via the USB cable.
    So, that suggests that you can use the card in the meantime, But if you want to really get to the bottom of the USB communication problem, a complete, comprehensive re-install would be the way to go, and that way the software can have all the correct patches loading up in the correct order.
    Hmm.. that's probably a lot information to take in, but you are much more familiar with all this than I am so..

You can do it online. Visit Microsoft network update site. This message itself comes you by Win-10. I did get its full update today. the only thing you have to remember is that the installed version of the Windows-7 at your computer now should be a licenced version. Martin, this laptop is so old and has so little memory, it'll be difficult to get much to run on it. The fact that support for WinXP is over leaves you with little to do with it. Donate it and get the tax write off. Keep the external extras you bought - you may be able to use them. Have a look at eBay or Craigslist in your area for a used PC - desktop or laptop. You'll probably be surprised to see what you can get for short money on a machine that can run modern apps. Look for a a machine that has a processor with at least 2 cores (more is better), 4GB RAM and 100GB or more HDD space. Look for Windows 7 - a 64 bit ("x64") version is better than a 32 bit ("x86") version. Most laptops will have built in WiFi and desktops will have a network connection. You can buy a desktop like this for about $60. I know, because I did this summer. HP, Core2Duo, 4GB, 150GB, Windows 7 x64. You'll be eligible for a *free* Windows 10 upgrade IF you have Windows 7 or later installed.

Try update your system to "Vista home premium x64bit sp1" and update your DirectX to DirectX10, and see any changes.

update your windows to SP2 so that the driver for your labtec will run. be sure that you are using a OEM xp when upating.

I,d suggest trying this link.
and downloading the broadcom diagnostics utility, this will determine your card type. if this does,nt work for you. download them all, put them in a folder on your desktop.go to the device manager and click on the device/update driver. and search desktop folder, for the updated driver.
once this operation is completed succesfully, it would pay you to backup all of your device drivers, for future reference.

MC 10000 Digitizer 10000 Error Message

Try downloading the updates for your software from Janome Global, downloads, software. Version 1 needs patches to make it compatible with XP. The most current Version for the 10000 software is 2.21, and the upgraded program is Digitiser pro/MB , a much more stable and far easier version to work with. The upgrade has to be purchased via a dealer or direct from Janome.

you might want to downgrade to xp because vista uses alot of ram to run it. you could also get more ram. you need about 1gb and a half to 2 gigs to run most recording softwares and interfaces. i personally use vista cause i lost my xp disk and i got 2 gbs of ram and everything runs great, but if you really want to get into recording do what im doing and save up and buy a mac.
