Water leaking out of weep hole

There is water leaking out of the weep hole at the bottom of the pump (approximately 2 to 3 cups a minute. I took the pump apart and it appears that the 3 pumping pistons have a hole located on the cylinder. These holes all connect to one another through the milled out portions of the water pump. They all come together and drain out of the bottom of the pump. These holes are there for a reason, but I can not seem to figure it out. The only way water can get there (from what I can tell) is leaking by the pistons, between the piston and cylinder, and coming out of the hole, eventually to the weep hole at the bottom. I hope my description was good enough. But is water SUPPOSED to come out of the bottom weep hole? is it used for cooling purposes?

I forgot to mention that other than the small leak, the pump works great! the pump is operating at the correct pressure and flow-rate.

SOURCE: water leaks from two locations on my Badger 5, 1/2 hp disposal

These holes are probably due to wear, as they are at about the level of the cutter. In general, residential disposals are not repairable and once they begin to leak, they must be replaced. The Badger series is Insinkerator's budget line and probably has about a 5 year lifespan with normal use.

SOURCE: quiet series 300 maytag water won't drain

This is more of a tip than a solution as I am having a partial-draining problem and have discovered by accident how to have the Quiet Series 300 "drain only" (which is not an option on the control board and the manual doesn't seem to address this).
TIP 1:  The "drain-only" function can be activated by selecting "Rinse Only", pushing the "Start" button, and then pushing the "Start" button again (which cancels the start).  This activates the drain pump which will drain any remaining water.
I think I might have a partial clog below which I have been able to access so far as I removed the top drain cover (3 --I think the term is star screws) and used a screw driver to take debris out from between the drain blades.  This improved things but didn't solve the problem. As of now, I just completely drain the machine by cancelling the "Rinse only" as described in TIP 1 above.
TIP 2: If you don't have a star or hex screwdriver, you can pick up one very cheaply at a discount store (e.g., Odd Lots, Marcs, or even some Dollar Stores).  Check out their tool section.  I've bought a bunch of stuff, sure it is not the highest qualilty, but how often do you use most of your tools?  I bought the star-screwdriver set for about $1-2 and will probably use it 10-20 times in my lifetime. I bought it to change a bulb in out minivan and have now used it again.  In my cynical opinion, more and more companies are NOT using straight or phillips-head screws as a way to force many to use their repair services.  I'm not a professional, just a guy who's using the internet to feel his way around in the dark.

SOURCE: 2003 crf 450 leaking coolant from hole from the bottom of the case under the water pump. What does this indicate?

It means your water pump seal is seeping at this point. Eminent failureportended. Replace water pump. Seals on pumps usually fail because of bearing wear, so this is a precursor to pump shaft failure. Good luck

Water pump leaks out weep hole in water pump when plugged in otherwise doesn't leak! Does this mean water pump seal is out?

Yes. Water pump seal is leaking. The weep hole keeps the water from getting to the bearing in the water pump.

Leaking coolant and antifreeze

Have you checked the water pump? It has what is referred to as weep holes (2). Just before failure in a water pump, it will leak antifreeze out one or both holes, usually the bottom hole. Also, check passenger floor for dampness, which would mean heater core or heater core hoses are leaking

My car is leaking water from the bottom of water pump what could it be

There is a small hole (called a weep hole) on the underside of the water pump. Coolant will leak out of this hole when the water pump goes bad. Verify the leak and replace the water pump

Overheating, small water leak don't know where it is leaking could be water pump

Water pump has a small 'weep' hole that is probably leaking-an internal seal is now leaking though this weep hole and the only fix it to replace the water pump.

My 1982 ford f150 is leaking from the water pump over flow why and what to do to stop this. the fluid is also a brown color.

If you are referring to the weep hole in the bushing that the shaft comes through, this is the primary failure mode for water pumps. Once the packing comes loose in the bushing, the pump must be replaced. If this is not what you were talking about, please reply.

No, what you're seeing is the weep hole leaking on the water pump. This is the warning sign that the water pump is worn out. Don't use any stop leak or anything to attempt to stop it. You'll be waisting your time. You'll have to replace water pump at this point.
