Question about Dell Inspiron 620 ST Desktop Computer Intel Core i32100 processor (DDDNKT1)
I just went to power on my dell Inspiron 620s desktop computer and noticed that the power button is stuck down . now we can unstick it but we cant get power to the computer
It sounds like either the push button assembly is broken on the front bezel cover, or the power switch is broken. Follow these steps to take the covers off.
Front Bezel: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/insp620620S/Insp620/en/sm/bezel.htm#wp1181855
Side access cover: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/insp620620S/Insp620/en/sm/cover_re.htm#wp1193123
Now look for either a broken piece on the bezel push button assembly or a broken power switch inside the computer case.

Try this out:
1. Hold down the Start (Windows Flag Key) button on your keyboard and press R
2. Type this Command : shutdown.exe -s -f -t 00
This will shutdown all running programs and shutdown windows Instantly.
Optionally you can create a desktop shortcut to do this automatically. Here is how:
1. Right click on any blank space of windows desktop -> New -> Shortcut. A “Create Shortcut” window will open.
2. In the blank, type in:
shutdown.exe -s -f -t 0
It means, shutdown and wait for Zero second. Click “Next” button for next step.
3. Type in whatever name you like in the blank. I use “Turn Off PC”. Then, click “Finish” button.
4. You are finished . A new shutdown shortcut has been created on your windows desktop!
Just click on it to shutdown.

SOURCE: computer not coming on
jsparo could be right, however, there could a number of causes for this, start by opening the side panel, take out the system memory, clean the memory contacts and slots of dust with a dry, clean, soft paintbrush, re-seat the memory firmly and try to boot the PC again.
Make sure you pull the power cord from the rear of the desktop before opening the side panel.
Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

I had a similar problem...I'd turn on my Inspiron 530 and it would power up and shut down by itself several times and then finally finish booting up but nothing would show on the screen.
Turns out, it was a bad video card. Since there are two ports for hooking up a monitor -- I ended up hooking up the monitor through the VGA and completely removed the video card (just used the built-in device on the motherboard). This solved the problem and it booted up straightaway.
Dell is sending the replacement video card and I will just use the built-in until it arrives.
I hope this helps with your problem!

the constant Green, states that the motherboard is getting Power.
The red/yellow would possibly suggest, that the ethernet port has a fault or possible corruption.
Solution:- remove the Power Lead from the Computer Case.
Remove side panel. take out any ethernet-Cable from the rear.
Locate the CMOS battery, round silver Battery on The motherboard.
For 10 seconds, this should reset The bios, to it,s original Default Settings. Replace Battery, side Panel. And power Lead.
You could also try This. Boot with Hard-drive power Cable Disconnected ( this will Eliminate HD Fault ) same for CD/DVD drive et,c.
