Question about Sewing Machines

Bottom thread on Juki DDL-5550 is coming up. Top thread seems to lie flat

My machine was JUST serviced last week--timing was fixed. This morning I put it back on the table and started working. Stitches were great. I went to cut pieces for welt and when I went back to use the machine the stitch was not right. The bottom thread is coming up through the fabric making little loops while top thread seems to lie flat and straight instead of making stitches. My thought is the tension, but bobbin case has not been touched since it worked this morning and is already as tight as it will go. Top tension dial had not been adjusted since working this morning either. I've re-threaded the machine twice. I've changed the needle. Groove of the needle is facing to the right. (just as the technician had done) I counted the exposed threads of the tension screw so I could put the dial back in the same place the technician had it then I've attempted to adjust the tension dial but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Check your upper thread at the spool. I've had industrial machines randomly throw a loop around the spool holder spindle which is hidden under the spool itself.

Also check your threading guide to be absolutely certain you are threading it correctly. Also make sure needle/thread diameter are suitable for each other.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Top thread stitches correctly but bottom thread loops.

FYI---- Loops on the bottom-- problem is in the threading..
Loops on the top--- problem is with the bobbin.

My wife broke several needles on her Juki DDL 555 machine and I need to know how to adjust the timing as she put a new needle in and the point was damaged

First thing to check is if you've got the right needle system: http://partsbooks.sewingmachine.com/Instructions/Juki/Industrial/DDL-5550%20&%205530%20Instruction%20Manual.pdf and that the needle is correctly oriented... the scarf has to be precisely set.
The next things I'd check are the stitch cycle -- hand crank the machine through the normal stitch cycle and see what's hitting. Then fix that. I've got my suspicions this may be a needle bar height adjustment. Don't thread up for this test... misthreading can also cause the needle to hit something and break, so start with the fewest possible variables first.

I have a 2011 Juki DDL-8300N. Has always worked fine but while sewing on denim it suddenly seized up and stopped sewing. The needle is in the lowest postion through the jeans. I am unable to turn the

Your needle probably bent and got jammed. clip threads top and bottom of the fabric and remove... then get in the bobbin area and look for issues.

HI THERE
concern E7 there's many reasons :
1- machine jamd ( try to turn machine by hand if you found handwheel is move easy ok.
2- thread trimmer locked or release? sometimes E007 come at the time of thread trimming function activated.( please check timming cam for thread trimmer ).
3- sometimes some threads go insaide hook and machine stop and give E7.

Hello, I have a juki DDL 5550, runs great, But the tension is off. Top thread bunches up on bottom side of fabric ( bobbin thread looks ok)\r\nThanks,S

Soulds like your not geting the top thread all the way in the tension disk. Make sure you have the presser foot up when you thread the machine. also after you get it treaded check to make sure you have tension, with the presser foot up you should have not tension and with it down it should be very hard to pull.
hope this helps

I bought a second hand Juki industrial machine , model DDL 5550-7, but struggle to get the tension of the stitches right. where do you set the lower stitches tension

upper tension sets the lower thread tension (upper thread is what you see on the underside of the fabric). Bobbin tension is for the thread you see on the top of the fabric
