When wired up, if i hit the scan button, it just keeps scanning and wont pick up any channels. It is tuned to the UK and was working in my last lorry. Also if i turn the squeltch knob, i get no sound through the speakers.

I would check the coax connection from radio to antenna.Assuming the radio is still working as it did in the last install. Take an ohm meter and see if ground at radio end is ground at antenna end. same with the signal wire (center conductor).

SOURCE: converting a different brand of mic for a midland CB

This should be a typical Midland pinout. If you are using a generic 4 pin mic that is wired to cobra/Uniden, all you have to do is switch pin 1 & 2, then 3 & 4.

Not all mics are color coded the same with their wires.

How do you program a Regency Programmable Scanner R1070?

Regency R1070 Frequencies for people with no manual
These are the ranges it supports.

30-50 Mhz
144-174 Mhz
440-512 Mhz

To make it scan, first set the range by pressing Manual and then Search. It will ask for the LOwer end and the UPper end of the range. Enter them, press Scan and then Search, and it will start scanning. When it locks and you want to keep going, hit Search again. You can press Delay to stop at a channel temporarily. To save a frequency in memory, hit Manual and pick a number, then type it out and hit Enter. When you have a few channels saved and you want to check up on each of them, Scan scans through memory. The Lock button is to skip a particular channel while scanning.

That's pretty much the whole manual right there.

Well the CB you have should not cycle through channels like that for sure. It is not a progressive scan. Try messing with the channel 9/normal switch again. In rare occasions that switch will **** to the side just a tad. there is a PCB board inside that is responsible for the channels responding to the channel as the channel knob is turned. This board could be going haywire. If fooling with that switch does not take care of the issue then I would contact the person you got the Midland from immediately and have them get you one that works properly.

Regards, Tony

The very part of your scanner that makes it a scanner is inop. YOU can find it but IT won't scan. Back to radio shack for warranty before they change their mind.
