How can i control the wandering cursor of my Sony Vaio Laptop?

Not sure which Sony you have. Does it have the old touch button in the center of the keyboard? I used to get many Old Dell 600 series and the problem was the touch button in the center was bad. With the customers permission I would cut the ribbon cable to that button and it would be fixed. It seems that a bad touch button would have the pointer wandering and conflict with the touch pad. If you only have a touch pad it will likely be that pad is bad. Change it out would be my suggestion. Good Luck!!!!!

How do I connect a microsoft wireless moblie mouse 3000 to my laptop?

Press the button on the back of the mouse to free the battery cover on top.

Remove the battery cover and put the supplied AA battery into the mouse.

Replace the battery cover.

Insert the wireless USB dongle into a USB port on the laptop or desktop computer.

Move the mouse and watch your computer screen.

Confirm that the mouse is connected by making the cursor move.

Hope this helps

Touch pad faulty and cursor jumps and cannot read emails, or type replies, using external mouse, but cursor will wandering. Less tha one year old.

Clean your Pad with a moist wet tissue and dry.
In Control Panel -> Devices manager -> uninstall the mouse/pad driver and either use detect new plug-and-play hardware via the top of the tree in the device manager listing (eg. you Computer name) context menu or simply reboot to force a new re-install of the driver for your Pad and Mouse and see if it solves the problem.
If your Pad is the Synaptic type, install your Netbook driver for the Pad.
Hope that re-installing the driver and Pad utility solve your issue let me know how you go.
ps. Worst case, your Aspire One should still be under manufacturer warranty.

Mouse cursor wanders around on the screen

Make sure you have the mouse sitting on a surface that is reflective (such as wood) and not clear (such as glass))
Also try removing any mouse pad that may be under it.

Sometimes they will move across the screen because the sensor believes the mouse is moving when it's really not

Phrases jump to another line

The Latitude you have most likely has the touchpad plus the dreaded pointing stick. The problem you are having is also known as "wandering cursor" where your cursor will move around the screen on it's own. Try these solutions:
1. Go to Dell.com and download the latest driver for your touchpad. In the touchpad properties, try to disable the pointing stick.
2. If all else fails, I have removed the keyboard and disconnected the cable for the pointing stick which always solves this problem. If you decide to take this approach, you should know your way around the inside of your laptop, take anti-static percautions, etc. You can download a service manual for your laptop from dell.com.

NexxTech mouse... cursor wanders by itself

Make sure that you do not have any items that have a blue tooth option around the mouse. It causes interference which the mouse receiver has to pick up causing it to wander to the top of the screen.
