Look at the bottom of the oven and see if you can remove the panel, if its all one piece then take out broiler pan and look inside to see if you acan get to the pilot burner. Good Luck

Where is a gas fuse in a Kenmore oven?

Gas ovens don't have a fuse. Won't the oven light?

Pilot Light won't stay lit?

We get asked this question many times.

If you light your pilot light, hold in the button and then when you release it and the pilot light goes out, generally you need a new thermocouple. Gas repairs can only be undertaken by a qualified gas technician so you can't do this job yourself.

The thermocouple is a safety device that recognises that the pilot has a good flame and is enough to ignite the main burners. The thermocouple open that valve to the burner.

In limited circumstances the thermocouple doesn't need replacing, either the shield that aims the flame to the thermocouple has become dislodged, or the pilot jet is a little blocked by debris. Either way, having the appliance serviced by a qualified gas fitter is the way to go. I am sure you will have seen news stories about explosions caused by gas leaks and faulty appliances.

Replace heating element in smeg oven

This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  • Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
  • If your Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  • When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

STOVE WORKS BUT OVEN WILL NOT HEAT UP - GAS OVEN

There are 2 high likelihoods as to what your problem may be. When you turn your oven on, does the ignitor begin to glow within 15 to 30 seconds? If it doesn't, there is no power going to the ignitor and the control mechanism is going to need to be replaced. If you have a manual dial thermostat control, you can order this on-line at parstdirect.com. If you control is electronic, you will be required to have an appliance technician come out in order to send the old controller in to be rebuilt.

If your ignitor is glowing when you turn on your oven, but it has a very dull orange glow, you have a bad ignitor and it needs to be replaced. This is the most common problem with older gas ovens. The ignitors just burn out after time and do not draw the amperage needed to open the safety valve.

Replacing the ignitor is a fairly easy procedure. Replacing a dial thermostat control can be a little rough due to rerouting the thermocoupler back through the oven body. Unfortunately, the electronic style oven controls can only be sent in for rebuilding and the company that you use will need to be able to handle "Retforrepr Rebuilds".

My Kenmore electric wall oven will not increase the heat to the desired setting. The electronic display holds at 100 degrees. Could the problem be the thermocouple or the electronic range control. The range control is hard to find, which is part # 318010701, made by Fridgidaire.

Possible a bad thermocouple, could also be bad gas pressure to the unit, my bet would be a thermocouple.
You should be able to replace this on your own, if you see where the pilot flame is, you will see the thermocouple that sticks into the flame, it may have fallen off or may need replacing, it should lead back to the gas valve and should be replaceable.
Grainger normally stock a lot of thermocouples and could even cross reference one for you.

SMEG Oven won't heat up

This is late response but this fault is your fan element. You have two of them, if heating slower than usual, it is only one that has failed. When replacing one, it is recommended the other one be replaced. Tripping the circuit breaker is the symptom. These elements 2100 Watt each are anywhere between $70 to $110.
