How to fix 14v-s100 sharp crt tv no raster only channel and volume display on screen

If there is no video signal input, this kind of fault can occur. An abnormal "Screen" voltage too can be the cause. If video processor IC or the tuner is faulty, this kind of fault can occur too. You should check all this. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box and press "Enter".

Blue screen with no signal flashing. then tv turns off

What is the brand name and model number to this TV? Provide more details please. These blinks are error codes, and are called blinking codes. If you're sound in electronics, check this link. Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.

Blue screen has audio can change channels and hear different audio but no picture

If you can see menu on-screen display, just get into it, surf for blue-back option and turn it OFF first, and see whether there is any grains appears on your screen. If there is no grains, and only a plane raster, your TVs video processor Ic has got damaged, and should need replacement. If there is grains, you just retune it in autotuning option, and allow it to store all the transmitting signals at that time. This process may take two or three minutes to complete, and you should wait till then. Never forget to connect antenna socket to the antenna terminal of your tv.
If you are using set top box, and connected it to the TV through audio-video cable, your TV has no fault, but the set top boxs' video processor has got damaged. OK,

Thin diagonal lines on screen. How to adjust whit balance ,screen end focus?

Is that diagonal thin line about 10 to 20 degree slant? And then you have a very bright raster?

Then you set the flyback(for tube tv), I think its "screen" voltage is set too high adjust it slowly to lessen the brightness. It is commonly a small pot on the side of the flyback together with the focus pot.

If you have raster turn the tv on, use insulated screw diver, then slowly turn the knob to the direction(CC or CCW) where your raster go dim.

Be careful your dealing with live and high voltage. If your not inclined on electronics better not to.

Oh BTW, set your settings to normal.

Ps 27123 have sound, tuning etc only small horizontal color band

Hello bdedrick708,

If what you are trying to say is that you have a 1/4 inch horizontal line across your screen, this means that something in your vertical deflection circuit has failed. This could be the vertical oscillator, the vertical output processor, the vertical coupling capacitor, or the vertical section of the yoke transformer.

If what you are talking about is a vertical line from top to bottom then you are possibly talking about a failed horizontal section of the yoke transformer.

Why so little about the horizontal section of the yoke? That is because if the horizontal section fails completely then you would lose high voltage and no line would be present because you would not have raster (screen light).

In any even check the yoke transformer first. Then work back from there.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

26" flat screen akai tv

Hello RJ13,

This may be a problem in the HV section of your TV. My question is do you have raster, or is the screen totally black? If you have raster then this is a video problem, if the screen is totally black then it is a HV problem. In either case if you do not have a background in electronics I would suggest that you take your TV to a qualified TV technician. If you do have a background you will need the following items:

A schematic diagram of your TV set to know where the test points are and to see what voltages and or signals should be at what point in your TV set
A multimeter to measure AC voltages. DC voltages, and Resistance when needed.
An Oscilloscope to measure signals that should be present in various sections of the TV as shown by the schematic.
A signal generator to create the proper input signal for testing.

These are the major tools needed, not to mention a soldering iron, and a de-soldering tool

I hope this helps you,

Thank you,

Sony trinitron 32 in. pip no video, (raster, with audio)

What you have described there is a classic example of the jungle IC failure. Ic301 Sony p/n 8-752-101-04. A pic with no color, and lines or grainy texture in the picture. Not a project you want to tackle if you don't have the proper soldering equipment or skills. And not a costly one at a good repair shop.. Only real hurdle is getting that heavy monster into the shop. To answer your question, yes what you described there is raster. Even the salt & pepper looking screen with no real decernable image is described as raster. In fact any image generated on the CRT is raster. And yes, these sets are prone to solder joint problems, usually ring cracking in circuits that generate the most heat.
