Need Turntable for 1960's magnavox stereo W700/W800 series

Just need to replace the turntable as it will not play records when stacked. It will play one at a time on manual, but seizes up on auto. AM / FM radio works fine. Cabinet is fine.

SOURCE: Turntable will not turn (spin)

It would appear this is a belt drive turntable - here's a link to a site where you can order a replacement, although you may be able to find a cheaper one.

SOURCE: I just inherited an old Zenith console turntable

Hiya, check and be sure the turntable is plugged into correct inputs, "phono"

If thats OK, then probably is the stylus but could also be the cartridge itself. Check the wires on the back of cartridge make sure they are fixed properly. If all Ok, then start with a new stylus first.

Hope it helps

SOURCE: Record player - sound only plays out of one speaker

Your tracking and anti-skate are not set correctly.

If you have the manual for this unit, it should have directions for setting these.

Does old Zenith Allegro Console Stereo - 8 track/AM/FM/turntable, have a belt drive phono? I can see metal gears to drive the stuck turntable .

The manufacturers of such items would usually buy in such hardware as record turntables from fairly standard catalogues.

One popular brand of turntable was the BSR but the design of other brands were similar. The metal gears aren't for driving the turntable but to drive the multichange mechanism so when one record has finished playing another will drop from the stack loaded onto the extended centre spindle.

This type of turntable is driven by a synchronous motor with a multidiameter spindle via a moveable idler wheel equipped with a soft rubber tyre. Lack of maintenance causes many problems and as the rubber tyre ages it tends to harden and lose traction on the inside of the steel turntable so when the record reaches the end and the metal gears engage there is insufficient torque and everything stops.
It is for that reason many older examples have had the multichange removed or disabled.

Removing the turntable centre motif should reveal a circlip which when removed will allow the turntable to be removed for maintenance.

Crosley CR40 playing 33 1/2 too fast? What can I do to slow it just a little bit?

I would get a vintage turntable and not a new one inexpensive one. The new record players do not last.

Crosley turntable won't play through home stereo

Quite possibly the sockets you put the deck is not designed for the playback of phono signals. They should be marked "phono".
Other issues are earth connections.

How do i connect technics turntable model SL-QD33 to technics stereo model SC-DV290 and what do i need to switch to on stereo to play records.

Have a look on the back input panel of the sc-dv290. Check for a "PHONO" input. If there is no phono input it will not play turntable. If there is: then plug it the turntable in and switch the SC-DV290 to PHONO mode.
Another way would be to purchase a "phono preamplifier" from ebay: Hook the turntable into the phono preamplifier, and the preamplifer into the SC-DV290 AUX input.
