Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3
Ok randomly out of the Blue my razor screen just stopped working inside or out. The keypad hasn't lit up since i got the phone 2 years ago which is no big deal.
The only time either screen while light up is if the phone is turned off and I plug it in to charge it. If the phone is on this won't work the screens stay off, however the phone will still work like normal. I have tried removing the battery, SIM card, the cover and making sure the connector was still tight, the squeeze method...
None of this will work the thing that bugs me is the lights coming on only when the phone is off... I took it in to Centennial and of course "get a new phone" was their major deal.
I do not have a regular phone and haven't had a chance recently to upload my phonebook to my PC so I have some numbers that will be lost :( I would appreciate any help on this!
Hi, first I am puzzled that your phone will light up if it is plugged in but not on the battery. It makes it sound like there is a short from the battery to that specific area. If it wasn't for that I would agree that you have a loose wire and that is usually fixed by the squeeze method.
I believe your phone needs tested to know where the problem really lies. This can be done by anyone that has the tools and knows how to work on a v3.
If it is the connector this would be my input.
I understand that you have tried the squeeze method for trying to make sure the connector has not come loose but that doesn't always work. It only takes about 5 minutes for a person that has the correct tools and knows what they are doing to take the v3 apart and verify that the connector is tight. It is possible that the connector going to the caller ID screen is also loose and should be checked. Unfortunately these connectors can work loose and when you take them to the phone shops they usually won't work on the, unless that is all they do is repairs. They always want you to get a new phone instead of either reconnecting or possibly replacing it. Feel free to e-mail me (firstname.lastname@example.org)
