You have formated your iPhone. I recommend connecting it to iTunes and click the "restore" button. Allow for the phone to restore to it's original settings, and you should be good to go!

Okay. try holding down the powerbutton and the homebutton. Hold it down for a while. The phone should power off (or on), keep holding it down. The apple logo should appear, then, while still holding it down, a "connect to iTunes" message should come up. Then, connect the phone to your computer and try a restore.

    I have a 2g iphone, The home

Connect the phone to your computer and iTunes. Click on the phone icon and tell it to revert the phone to factory settings. You likely updated to a firmware that started giving you problems. If your phone works fine without the updates, then don't download them. Some problems the firmware is causing is that the home button is pressed but the screen stays black. The phone has to be reset by holding home and the top button down for 7 seconds to restart the phone. Reverting to factory settings should resolve the problem.

Reset the phone or use iTunes to restore the phone to the factory defaults. If that doesn’t work you will need to take the phone by the Apple store and have them check it out. The touch screen component of the iPhone is like a second screen under the display; it can break and you can still have a perfectly clear picture but no touch response.
