Bad thermal fuse or bad Hd driver board. Hard to pinoint over email but a chat with us to narrow it down would be recommended. If this is under warranty I would suggest you put in your papers for it. As in 2010 July there will not be any repairs for plasma's as far as support from the manufacture.!! Its all going LCD/and LED projected now.

Yes it's possible to use the USB port , you only have to change settings in TV setup to change it.
With software ver 3.15 it's very easy see link below how to change setup.

Some of movies encoded in Xivd (not divX, thought thye are compatible) are not supported my some manufacturers.
One of the following should help
- Re-encode the movies in DIVX format and play them
- Upgrade your TVs firmware to support the latest video formats

Panasonic requires a very strict AVCHD structure from a camcorder that nobody has been able to figure out yet.
Seems like the Viera is fussy about video encoding.
