How do I correct overscan on an AOC AOC L42H861 42 in. LCD TV?

How do I correct the overscan on my AOC L42H861 42 in. LCD TV? It is really bugging me. I've heard I can use the service menu, but I can't find the code for it.

I found the factory menu code. Set volume to "0", press "mute", press 9-8-7-6. There is no overscan on the factory menu.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Apex TV Service Mode

The service menu for this TV may be accessed by holding down the INPUT button on the TV and pressing 2580 on the remote. To navigate the service menu use the arrow keys on the remote. The center Enter button is used to go down into a submenu. The Menu button returns from a submenu. The exit key exits the menu.

There is an option to adjust Over Scan in the Picture settings menu. Set the positions to zero and the size to +100 for both horizontal and vertical. Then set the Sharpness to zero in the Picture Mode menu for each picture mode (optional, but sharpness makes text and sharp lines really ugly if you're using a PC).

I've owned this TV since Feb. 2013 and I've been disgusted with its lack of disable-able overscan and forced to use VGA to get a usable picture. The VGA port finally started going out (flickering colors) and rather than tearing it apart to resolder the VGA connector I tried to find a service manual again. Found one for a different Apex LCD TV but the service code was the same. It's like having a brand new, much better TV now! Overscan is the worst thing the TV industry ever did, it's totally and completely unnecessary on digital, pixel-perfect signals.

How do I perform hard reset for AOC monitor. Menu reset doesn't fix problem.

There are only two types of resets. Factory reset, and Hard reset. To make a hard reset, you have to unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 20 minutes or so. Within this time it might have been resetted. To do a Factory reset, you have to enter its service mode option. Electro help . Try this link to know more. Pull up older posts. In the menu system there is a reset (I believe it's all reset, or reset all...something like that) which should fix the issue. If not, leave the TV unplugged for 4 hours and plug it back in then turn it on.

This sounds like a computer problem and not really a television problem. Check your driver files.

Try removing your driver files. Then disconnect your AOC monitor. Reboot the computer and login. Shut down the computer and reconnect the AOC monitor. Start the computer. Now install the monitor drivers.

The "Best Solution" fixes a problem that is unrelated to the original poster. anononline19's solution is to fix the entire OSD being locked (displays OSD Locked when the menu button is pressed).

Original poster's problem can be fixed by changing your graphics card's "overscan" settings.

Overscan on ATI cards:

Overscan on nVidia cards is currently not supported.

When darwing in AutoCad, circles appear as eggs!

It is because your monitor is not getting the correct navtive resolution from your PC, the aspect ratio is not correct, the PC video output should be set to 1680x1050 @60Hz for this monitor. This monitor 16:10, not 16:9 like other 16:9 monitor.
