I have F&D home theatre i want to connect it to laptop

go to radio shack or walmart . get a cable that has an 1/8th inch stereo plug on one end and two (male) rca plugs on the other end.
make sure your volume is not all the way up on either the computer or the stereo.
plug the 1/8 inch plug into your "speaker or headphone" jack on the laptop.
plug the red and white (male) rca plugs into the auxilary or cd "IN" on the home theatre.
Power up the stereo, make your source on the home theatre the Auxilary or CD, whichever you used to plug the RCA's into.
now you should hear anything from the laptop through the home theatre.
Regards..

I want to hookup my laptop with my 7.1 Onkyo HTR540 home theatre, onkyo has optical input, i am confused how to hookup with my laptop which also has HDMI port but my home theatre does not have HDMI Port

If you have a plasma, or otherwise HDTV display, what you would do is send you information in two different directions.

Connect the video directly to the display. Connect the audio through your home theater, and set both units accordingly.

Ghosting of picture from a Panasonic home cinema system

There must be a fault in the screening of the internal wiring to the scart outlet in the home theatre system. I simply changed the way the player was connected to the TV and the interference disappeared:-

1.) I used the RCA video outlet instead of the scart lead. Picture quality was not compromised. FYI the Panasonic Plasma TV I have has only RGB video input sockets at the back, so I used a scart to RCA adaptor to overcome this problem of connecting old technology to new.

2.) The surround sound when playing DVDs is generated directly from the home theatre system so there was no need to connect the audio from the home theatre system to the TV

3.) I used a pair of RCA leads to connect the "audio out" from the TV to the "audio in"on the home theatre system to provide the option of TV sound through the home theatre system.

TV Audio won't come through the Home Theatre Speakers

why it doesn't come. just connect the RCA cable to the output pins of TV and connect them to the input female jacks of home theatre receiver. or if the TV has optical out and the home theatre reciever had optical in. thats the best option. just connect one optical cable to enjoy the 5.1 sound. tell me clear problem if u r nt solved.

you need to hook up the xbox' audio cables to the home theatre systems AUX in port and then have your system set on AUX, and you can leave your xbox' hdmi plugged into the tv, just be sure your on the correct AV chanel.

How do I connect my laptop to my home theatre system?

The best idea would be to get an audio interface, providing that your home theatre has an IN such as left and right phono. hese can be found for around 60 GBP. A chaeper alternative would be to buy and adapter which splits headphone to phono although an audio interface would allow you to send sound from you theatre in to your laptop as well.
