No, there is no way. I suggest that you take it with you to your DR and compare.

Send it back to the manufacturer and tell them whats going on with it and they should be able to adjust it to the right settings or take it to a health care supply store, they may have a technician there who may be able to do it. good luck!

I guess you got a faulty device. BP monitor's should be accurate as they measure our blood pressure rate. I use Omron Health monitoring systems. I suggest you to try some other pharmacy, for such products.

Can i recalibrate this machine by my self

Unfortunately. there is no way you can recalibrate the unit. You don't have the equipment to accomplish it. However, HoMedics offer this service for little or nothing. In fact all BP Monitor Manufacturer's do. The reason being, the recalibration must be certified as correct.

Contact HoMedics Customer Support 1-800-466-3342 regarding this.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Mike, recalibration is not something you can do at home.It takes specialized equipment. Most manufacturers perform this service for little or nothing. The recalibration must be certified as correct. Contact the manufacturer, to see what their policy is for returning it for recalibration.

Lumiscope Model 1157 Deluxe Digital Blood Pressure Monitor -- reading consistently high BP, particularly the systolic pressure. Can this be calibrated?

In all most all cases, the manufacturer has to do the recalibration. This is because it has to be certified as correct. Contact the manufacturer for instructions on how to return it. Most charge little or nothing for this service.

1 Answer

I have a cuff like this and get an error saying EE

According to the Owners Manual, the EE Message shown on the display or the blood pressure value is displayed when an excessively low (or high) reading is detected OR as a result of one of the following:

1. Cuff has been placed incorrectly. Solution: Wrap cuff properly so that it's positioned correct.

2. Did you talk or move during measurement? Solution: Measure again. Keep wrist steady at heart level during measurement.

3. Shaking or moving of the wrist with the cuff on. Solution: Same as # 2.

NOTE: Be sure the cuff is placed exactly as pictured on the face of the box, 1/2" above the heel of the hand.

We don't the manual for our model #BPA-440WGN and Serial #07091844 Blood Pressure Monitor. Believe it needs to be re-calibrated and don't know how to do that. It's consistently giving high blood pressure...

We're having consistently high readings with ours, too. We've compared it with as many as two other units at various test sessions.

From the manual:
------------------------
All digital blood pressure monitors require recalibration in order to ensure continued accuracy.

This monitor does not require recalibration for 2 years under normal usage conditions (approx 3x/day), at which time your monitor will display "CA." The unit should also be recalibrated if the monitor sustains damage due to blunt force (such as dropping) or exposure to fluids or extreme hot or cold temperature changes.

To send monitor for recalibration, please ship to the address below with check or money order in the amount of $10 payable to HoMedics, Inc., for recalibration service, shipping and handling:

HoMedics Recalibration Service Center
Post Office Box 7050
Walled Lake, MI 48390

Allow up to 3 weeks for return of product. For additional information, contact HoMedics Consumer Relations at 1-800-466-3342.
---------------
So, do we spend $10 plus postage and wait 3 weeks or more...or do we use the $10 toward a new one immediately at a Walgreen's a half-mile away? It's a nice unit and works well otherwise, so it's a quandry. I hate to toss it. Good luck.

Hello; My Omron HEM 712C shows message: EE Can

'EE' means cuff is underinflating. Re wrap cuff with varying amounts of pressure and restart [wait 2 minutes between readings].

Blood pressure monitor problem

The two numbers that measure your blood pressure are written like a fraction: one number on top and one on the bottom. The top number in a blood pressure reading refers to the systolic pressure. It measures the pressure inside your blood vessels at the moment your heart beats. The bottom number represents your diastolic pressure. It measures the pressure in your blood vessels when your heart is resting between heartbeats. A good blood pressure for most people will be under 120/80, as most people with blood pressure problems have high blood pressure. However, extreme low blood pressure can also be a serious health concern.
