Question about GE PDS22SIS Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Open Question

Refrigerator not cold

Hi, I have a GE Profile bottom freezer. My refrigerator is staying around 55. I have replaced the motherboard, but this just seemed to reset the defrost feature in the freezer (it was staying frosted). It doesn't seem to be the other circuit board at the top either. I have a repairman, but he is at a loss. He has suggested that we check the vents, but we have not done that yet because he doesn't seem to think that this is the problem. Could there be something else?

I also have a GE Profile Stainless Steel bottom freezer. I have a fan blowing in the freezer...that part works fine. Electronic display is working in the fridge, displays correct temperature, but fridge cooling unit doesn't kick in. Unit is less than four years old.

Can you answer a couple of questions for me. Check out to see if you have a fan blowing inside the freezer compartment. and also under the fridge down by the compressor do you have a fan blowing down there. ken

suspect you have a problem with the defrost system and hence the noise with the fan. take back panel off inside the freezer and if i'm right, melt ice off with a hairdryer. get back to me to say the results if you want

Evaporator fan motor inside the freezer is working? Any frost on the freezer back wall?

This is the fan inside the freezer section, it will circulate the cold air around in the freezer and blow the cold air from the freezer into the fresh food section, it also sucks the warm air from the fresh food section back into the freezer to be re-cooled.

Hot condensor coils ( under the refrigerator ) been cleaned recently?

**GSS25LGMA**

That is part of a full model#.

SOURCE: freezer defrosting at will; refrigerator side uneven temperatures

Sound like it's going into showroom mode that the same problem we had, by unplugging it for awhile and then plugging it back in usually works if not this what we were told.
Sounds like you have bad thermistors ( # 4 and/or # 5 ) .To access these parts , you will have to remove the inside rear wall of the freezer . The # 4 thermistor , tells the main control board , the temp of the coils , if they need defrosted , when they are thru defrosting . This thermistor is the 1 " long , torpedo looking piece , clipped on the top left of the coils , with 2 white wires going to it . Part number WR55X10025 . It would be advisable to also replace the # 5 thermistor , located at the bottom of the freezer , slightly in front of the drain , also with 2 white wires going to it , slid into a housing . This thermistor , is the freezer thermistor , which tells the control board , the freezer temp , when to cycle off , associated with the fan speed also
