Question about Cannon Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

I have a Canon PIXMA MP780/MP750 Printer. Until recently it has produced beautiful color prints. I replaced the BK cartridge, went through all the maintenance, cleaning, deep cleaning, alignment, etc. Color is primarly blue, green. No red, little yellow. At my witzs end.

Did you by any chance buy a non Canon cartridge for this printer? I had the same problem with mine after using a generic cartridge.

If the results print out like this, there are two possibilities:
1. Red ink in the cartridge runs out. Solution: injecting with red ink
2. If the red ink has been filled, and check pattern is still not out, meaning the color cartridge error.
Solution: replace the cartridges

Canon Pixma MP780. Recently my color ink

Have you checked to see if the jet area on the bottom of the ink cartridge has a blackish sludge on them? It might be that the area that the print cartridges are purged/cleaned to one side of the printer (sometimes called a service station, or spitoon) has built up excess ink that has gotten thick and high enough that as the carriage goes over that area the bottom of the cartridge gets polluted with the blackish sludge. It will work slightly into the jets where the ink comes out and cause discoloration, even after you change the color cartridge. Open the unit to look inside with a flashlight for build ups and clean it (if you find some) with disposable things like cotton swabs, coffee stirrers, whatever you have that wont damage anything inside. Another cause could be mixing of the cyan and magenta and yellow somehow inside making a dark color representing black - but replacing the cartridge would cure it immediately.

Print quality poor for mp780. Had s800 which

Hi,

There seems to be a calibration problem. Follow the calibration test from the manual.

If you are using original cartridges, go to canon for repair.

Can't print need model number

Here is the Canon WEBSITE for the PIXMA. Your can find manuals, drivers, specifications, etc. here.

This is where the serial number is located, look here.
Locate the Serial Number The serial number of the PIXMA MP750 / MP780 is located at the back of the printer towards the bottom edge, as shown below.
  • The serial number for the MP750 starts with three letters (AGA) and ends with six numbers. Example: AGA012345
  • The serial number for the MP780 starts with three letters (AHB) and ends with six numbers. Example: AHB012345
