Question about Logitech 250 Headset

1 Answer

I've bought a logitech headset for my Dell Dimension 8300 and can't seem to get it to connect properly. It had two jacks, not USB.

Many thanks for your help. All sorted now.

I ended up seperating the wires on the headset to allow me to have one in the front of the box and one in the back, and all is working well now.

Hi,
One goes into the green headphone/speaker plug and the other goes into the red 'microphone' hole, or maybe the blue 'line in' hole, but only if that has been set as the 'line in'.
You can change the settings of the audio ports in your soundcard software eg Realtek Mixer.
Test your levels in the Audio/Video Setup of Messenger or in the Audio settings in the Skype 'Options' under Tools.
Hope this helps

Remember and try the different audio devices from the drop down lists in each program until you find the right one. The default audio device driver for the Mic and the default one for the Headphone/Speaker might not be the one you want. Good Luck :)

Logitech USB Gaming Headset only working out of one ear

I've had this happen twice with Logitech headsets and believe it has to do with the cheap/fine wire they use in the cables. I suspect that a good tug on the cable will snap the wire or some other internal connection.

No sound from my Logitech headset when on SKYPE

Maybe you need to select which Audio device you are using within Skype. It the Settings under Audio you should be able to select the default audio device that Skype talks to. If you set it to the USB headset, it might work properly.
