Trying to fix problem "put in cartridge".

    Can anyone assist please.

MP360 printer alarm flashes and gives message "put in cartridge". Cartridge is in, even replaced with new one. Still gives the message. What to do next?

  • mich_0728 Mar 22, 2009

my Canon imageclass mp360 has the same problem.

The alarm light keeps coming on, and on the screen "put in cartridge" keeps flashing but the ink cartridges are new and I didn't do anything different to what i usually do when i change the ink cartridges and I bought the right canon ink cartridges...

I hope someone is able to help because I can't seem to find any solutions on the net when i google, and my printer is still in such new condition it would be a shame and a waste if i had to replace it already... :(

    cheers.

LEAVE PRINTER ON THEN,
1 remove ALL ink cartridges and close all covers
2 unplug power cord from back of printer
3 wait 4 minutes
4 plug power cord back in and wait for 10 minutes
5 when prompted install ink cartridges and wait a few minutes

click the setup button on the front of the printer scroll down to the tools menu and then run clean print head 3 times and last of all run align printer 1 time.

well some times you do get bad cartridge is this third party if so replace the cartridge with a OEM. Is there a chip on the cartridge if so clean with alchol also clean the contact inside the machine where the chip connects, buy a new one OEM do not use one from other machines there chips already have data about that machine not the new one

Will the cartidge box move if cartridges are empty?

Hi,
For your information obviously the cartridges will move while you turn on the printer or give a print job if the cartridges are full or empty, but it will not print and will show a massage that "cartridge are empty" or "Ink level is too low". If there is any stuck on the way of movement then the cartridge will not move.

Empty ink error message

Hi, its sad to say but the printer sounds that needed to be send to the nearest service center in your area. You already reseat & replace the ink cartridge and issue still present. Please call your printer manufacturer so that they can give you more options aside from sending it to service center. Thank you so much,

Ink tank

Users having problem like ink cartridge is only partial used, but error code appear to check ink cartridge, maybe trying to taking out and putting back, it works sometime and problem occurs again,
  • By replace a new ink cartridge will sure help as the partial used one would be faulty already, and if you are using Canon ink cartridge, do call up Canon to report the issue and they will exchange a new ink cartridge for the faulty partial used cartridge as it due to the unique feature that Canon has build on the ink cartridges not properly done, which resulted to be faulty. Canon's purpose is to prevent the usage of 3rd party ink cartridges.

MFC 210C Ink Problems

Steve,

did you watch the display after replacing the cart?
Very often the machine asks if you have changed the cart and demands an answer (1 for yes).

You can try to do an update of the firmware, too. Go to www.brother.com , choose your country and then your machine. Download a small update tool and run it.

If it aint getting better:
Do unplug from power outlet (even though you have done already) wait 10 Min. leave scanner cover open and take all carts out. Plugin to power again and leave scanner open. Wait uintil machine gives a warning signal. Reinsert carts and close cover: now watch the display and give always the answer YES(1).

Photo ink 58 do i put it on the right side and what other ink cartridge do i need to use

Normally, you keep the regular tri-color cartridge in the place it already was.. You should be taking the black cartridge OUT and putting the 58 Photo cartridge in...

FYI.. the 58 photo cartridge provides you with LIGHT magenta, LIGHT Cyan and a PHOTO Black -- which are supposed to give you truer tones and 'half-tones' for shades and nuances in color (like different grades of blue in the sky). The Photo black helps the photo not look "green" on black areas when there is a reflection on the photo... (with regular ink, when you get a reflection off of the shiny paper you often see a green-ish like color and it looks rather odd... the photo black stops that.)

Overiding Empty Cartridge error for Dell A10 962

I would take out both cartridges and put them in again. Realign the printer and the error codes should remove themselves. Try turning the printer off and on before puting the cartridges in again. That may make a difference. You can let your computer know not to tell you when the ink is low too. Let me know how this work for you.
