software if you dont have the driver you will need to download one here are a few you could try although i could not find one for windows 7

Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right.

But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date.
But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing.

Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10).

I have asus k53s series and my built in webcam does not appear or shown on devices and printers..but when i use yahoo messanger and skype there's a image view on webcam but it is flip vertically u

Your webcam would be listed under Imaging Devices in the device manager. If it is showing you an image when you use skype or yahoo messenger then it is installed. Go into the webcam software to change the settings on how it is projecting the image.

You have to open the webcam software to activate or start the webcam. There is no button to push or switch to turn on. The webcam software is somewhere in the program list. Click Start/Programs then search for any reference to webcam or camera. Sometimes the webcam might be inside one of the manufacturers folders in the program list so search the folders for it. Some manufacturers have something like Entertainment Experience that will open and show all the entertainment devices such as the dvd drive, webcam, media player, etc. if you see it click it to launch it then click on the webcam or camera icon.

Try using ManyCam

You can always download Manycam and install it. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "download.cnet.com" (without the quotes). Click on the link to go to the site. When the site opens look down on the left and you will see a gray area that says Find Software. Type "Manycam" (without the quotes) in the white search area then hit the search mirror. When it brings back your results look for the one that says ManyCam Virtual Webcam. Down load it and install it. Make sure you remove the check box on any junky programs it would like to install. You only want to install ManyCam, no additions whatsoever during the install. ManyCam is totally FREE and easy to use, and you will always know where your webcam software is.

I cant get my persario cq56 notebook computers web cam opened

Activate your webcam [START then PROGRAMS and then choose your webcam - usually in MediaSmart]. If you are able to see a live image on the screen it means your webcam operates properly. Now your should check the SETTINGS of your webcam [the icon] and see if under SNAPHOTS the adjustments are fitting your needs.
Because your capture is totally black I'd assume you have wrong values for BRIGHTNESS, or for CONTRAST [or for both...]. There is where the adjustments come.

GOOD LUCK!

Inbuilt webcam not in drivers

Open the control panel on the start menu and click hardware and sound, choose devices and printers and see if the webcam shows up there. If it does right click and click troubleshoot. Windows will scan the device for errors.
If the device is not visible in the device manager, then you need to install a driver for it.
If you let me know the model of your PC I may be able to point you to the right place to download a new driver or you can try the Advent support website.

My asus webcam appears upside down, how do i change this?

Hi katieloydall...

The image in your Webcam Uploader window might be inverted because of your camera setting.
To change the setting:If your using Messenger.
Click Messenger and select "My Webcam."
In the window that opens, click the "File" menu, select "Preferences," and choose "Webcam".
Click the "Camera Settings" button.
There is usually a checkbox for "Invert Image" or "Mirror Vertical." Un-check this box if one exists. If you can't find this checkbox, try searching the other tabs.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

Tell me how to activate the camera ,because i can see people am talking to,but they cant see me,this is what they tell me.

Hi,

I am presenting below solution by keeping in mind that the webcam software is installed on your laptop.

Compaq laptops come with QuickPlay features that allow you to conveniently access your built-in webcam. Use the QuickPlay software to activate the webcam in your Compaq laptop and record videos and photos right onto your hard drive. The software is straightforward and simple to understand for both novice and experienced computer users.
Step 1 Click the "Start" icon and type "quickplay" into the search field. Click the "QuickPlay" entry that appears in the results. Alternately, press the "QuickPlay" button located near the laptop's display.
Step 2 Click the "Video" icon in the QuickPlay interface that opens, then double-click the "HP Webcam" option in the "Source" window. The image from your webcam appears on the screen.

Do post if you still find problems in accessing the webcam.

Thanks,
Amar

Go to your menu by pressing your windows button or clicking on the menu icon in the bottom left hand corner. In the search bar on the bottom type "webcam", your webcam icon will appear. Click on it. The webcam will turn on if it's working properly.

My webcam is coming up very blue and fuzzy is there a way to fix that for the Toshiba satellite L655

Hello!
Webcams in general have very low resolution. But you can improve the appearance of your image with this little trick:
Before the webcam starts capturing, try pointing it to a light source, so when it starts it should receive enough light to provide a brighter image afterwards. You can take it off the light source when you see that the image improves and use it normally.
This happens because most webcams' drivers are programmed to display an image based on the initial light conditions. So if you start using it in a dark place, when you try to move to a brighter area, the image would look blue and fuzzy, as the webcam was adapted to those lightning conditions.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck!
