Uneven Load.

The sensor should be checked for proper operation, and the vibration dampers too.

If the washer is shaking and actually going out of balance and generating the UL error and the drum is empty the most likely cause of this problem is something under the spin basket.Clothes can end up under the spin basket and cause it to turn crocked and cause the out of balance. First I'd recommend removing the spin basket and check under it for any clothing or other obstruction that might cause the out of balance. Here is a diagram of how to Check.. Click Here

My washer goes into spin cycle byitself and when washing,if u r in spin cycle it sets for 14 mins thats good 4 mins into spin all knob lights start flashing and the screen says uL

One thing to understand is that this is a difficult problem to pin down and may end up requiring the control board to be replaced.

The UL or unbalanced load error is displayed when the control board senses an out of balanced load.

You don't indicate if the washer is actually out of balanced or not when the code appears but the description of banging and shaking would indicate it is out of balanced.

If the washer consistently bangs and shakes in spin then I's suggest you remove the spin basket and check under it for obstructions that might prevent the washer from spinning smoothly.

My Kenmore Elite Oasis washer unbalanced signal seems to be very sensitive. Only after several tries of readjusting the load to get it really even that the washer will spin without stopping. I made sure...

If the washer throws an UL error code with out any clothes in the washer then the issue must be concerned with the mechanical alignment inside the machine or a bad CCU.

The most common problem which can cause this is some sort of mechanical hinderance which does not allow the basket to move freely.

The suspension system which holds the basket in its place might be faulty and causing the unbalancing. In this model i think there are plastic ring at the bottom of the basket . Even if they are worn out or moved out of position it may cause the UL error code you are facing

Im getting a uL message on my spin cycle and I dont know why.

The "uL" message stands for "unbalanced load." Open the lid to the washer and redistribute the load if the "uL" display appears on the appliance.Redistributing the load should correct any imbalances in the washer and allow the washer to turn freely. Close the lid and press "Start" to restart the washer.

UL = uneven load.

Re-distribute clothes and re-try.

If still no-go... the load balance sensor is likely to blame.

UL - unbalanced load. Either there is a problem with the suspension or the load is too large.

I have a kenmore elite oasis top loading washer about 3 years old. I took it apart and checked the springs and the rods and the plastic ends that hold the rods in place and all of them look fine. I run an empty load in the washer and it still goes unbalanced on the spin cycle. My water bill has tripled due to the fact that every load takes 3 to 4 washings. I need help please!
