Repeated paper jams epson 7000 pro photo

After printing about 1/3 the page, the printer head begins to catch on the margins of the paper and eventually jams on the torn, wadded up remains. this does not happen with text documents, only with multicolor images. haven't tried b&w images. i have tried adjusting for paper width and making sure the paper is inserted correctly, using matte vs. gloss or semi gloss, no difference, it still tears, except for text documents. goodpsych@yahoo.com

SOURCE: Epson R1800 refuses fine art papers

Hi Fruitless, Last night I was tearing my hair out trying to get my R1800 to accept some Hahnemuhle Satin 310, and it was just passing through and passing through. About once in 20 trys it would finally print. I was in the middle of making up my own paper profiles for this lovely paper. Anyway, I gave up at about 1:30 am, and went to bed. Today I resumed my attack, and guess what fella, there is a solution. Pass this on to everyone. You did not say what version of Photo Shop you were using. I just got my CS3 a week ago, and if you are using it, you can open a photo for printing. Go to Printing Preferences Dialog Box, > click on Maintenance Tab, and then click on the Bottom button that is labeled as Printer & Options Information. The Printer and Options Dialog Box opens, and there at the bottom is a box that says Thick Paper right beside it. Select or check this box and enjoy yourself thereafter. I did not see this in the User's Guide, but knew there had to be an answer to this problem somewhere. No problems ever since. Best of luck.

SOURCE: R1900 adds blue-green tint to my photo prints

Epson doesn't like Generic Cartridges.

Hello, In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. That sounds like your problem. Also in Purchasing the Brother's . Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, etc. These printers have a chip, that will detect if it is Generic or Genunie. When using Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, but you have to fill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. Don’t waste too much ink in cleaning it.

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Thanks and Good Luck :0)

How do i need to purge the ink lines on an epson 3880

Purging Procedure - If you have just installed a new archival or Quadtone cartridge you must purge the Epson print head of all of the old, non-archival, ink before you can begin to print with the full archival effect. The print heads in the Epson 200/400/440/500/600/640/740/800/850/860/900/1160/1520/Photo/Photo 700/Photo EX/Photo 750/Photo 1200 printers hold about 3 to 5 pages worth of ink. Always run a Nozzle check before printing. Even if you get a perfect nozzle check on your first try after putting in a new cartridge, run at least one or two head cleaning cycles. This will prevent any excess ink from over filling the print head. After the cleaning cycles, use the purging test patterns below to purge your system of the old ink. After printing about 5 (8.5x11) pages of this pattern, 98% of the old ink will be gone. The rest will come out slowly and may take as many as 20 or more pages, but at the 98% point you will see good results. If you have an Epson 3000, 5000 or 9000. See below

You need to adjust the print head spacing. This is a lever along the side inside the printer by the print head. It just move the head closer or further away from the paper. The closer it is the harder it strikes the bottom pages and it should print darker on them. If you get it too close it can catch the paper and cause a jam so you have to give it a bit more space. You may end up redoing this if you use a different brand or type of nc form paper. Just open the cover look for a lever on the side and lick it a notch (should show circles so go to the smaller one) and try printing. You might have to waster a few pages before it behaves but this is all you need to do.

I am printing on 8 1/2 by 14 paper landscape. The document is not covering the entire paper.

Do you want the document to fill the page from corner to corner? You won't be able to do that due to the margin settings. The printer needs to be able to pull the page through the machine without touching the ink, so it can't print on every available inch of the page. You can minimize the margins as much as your printer will allow under the Page Settings menu, but it will always shrink the document to fit within the margins on the page.

Hope this helps!

why print velvet paper? the problem is the velvet would be too thick and it would jam the print heads because when they run over the paper it would pull the velvet and it would get jammed i don`t think you should print velvet
