No solution as yet mine did exactly the same and i lost all of my information on the disc. Suggest remove battery and open in record mode, camcorder will say error with information and ask if you like to repair disc, press yes and continue as normal!

I own a jvc-d93 digital video camera and when recording the screen is black and the words lens cap appear even though the lens cap is off,can you help.

Please check whether the Camcorder is fully charged. Then, try resetting the Camcorder to the factory settings. Try Power resetting the Camcorder.
To Power reset the Camcorder, remove the battery of the Camcorder press the ON button(if switch, then keep the switch in ON position) for 30 seconds and reinsert the battery in 1 minute. Then, check the operation of the Camcorder.
If the issue still persists, then service will be required. It seems to be an issue with the CCD of the Camcorder.

I cannot record, in the corner where it says record, standby, it flashes the number C:31:40 I have a new TDK Hi 8 120 and it keeps flashing. Please help, thank

when problem occur while cam is operating, the self-diagnosis function starts working, and may display the service mode display code. in your case, C:31:40, pertains to a part of the cam tape compartment mechanism called the drum that doesn't start up. issues could prevent you from recording, playing back tapes, rewinding or fas forwarding. t/s steps are: try diff tapes esp. w/prev recordings, reset cam (press reset button while cam is on, located just below the menu button, in the panel where the lcd screen goes to), power reset (remove batt and ac adapter and leave cam w/ any power source for at least a minute). if issue persists, unit will require repair. hope this helps.tnx:)

Most of these I've seen require the mini dv serviced or replaced. I have seen the switch block that the reset button is a part of fail as well. I clean and service these camcorders starting as $40. Larry's Electronics 916-362-8708

My camers keeps on asking me to "press the reset switch" and reseting does not seems to fix any problem for me.

I found the fix. It's so easy.
Take out the battery
When it says hit the reset button, hit the reset button.
Turn the camera to off
Take out the battery
Wait 2 minutes
Put the battery back in.
Turn on the camera. It won't say reset anymore.

Panasonic camcorder dv

This problem is in the owners manual. It says that if you press reset and the problem keeps recurring you must have it serviced. Per the panasonic website if you purchased the camcorder greater than 1 year ago the flat fee for repair is about $265. Buy a new camcorder, thats the most cost effective solution.

Here is what I was able to find about your issue with your camera. [PUSH THE RESET SWITCH] is displayed. ? An irregularity in the Camcorder has been automatically detected. Remove the cassette or the card for data protection and then press the [RESET] Button with the protection on the Lens Cap. The Camcorder will be activated. ? An irregularity in the Camcorder has been automatically detected. Remove the cassette or the card for data protection and then press the [RESET] Button. The Camcorder will be activated. ? If you do not press the [RESET] Button, the power to the Camcorder is turned off automatically about 1 minute later. ? Even after you press the [RESET] button, the indication may still appear repeatedly. If so, the Camcorder needs repair. Detach the power connected, and consult the dealer who you purchased the Camcorder from. Do not attempt to repair the appliance by yourself. Here is the location of the reset button: 1 Open the LCD Monitor 2 Undo Grip Belt end and pull Lens Cap Cord downward to loosen Grip Belt. 3 Use projection on the Lens Cap to press the [RESET] Button . If this doesn't work here is the link to the site that I found this information on. It is located on page 78 of the pdf file. Good Luck!!!
