Question about Dell E176FPC 17" TFT LCD Flat Panel Monitor
Our video driver probably was updated. You can try rebooting the PC
hitting F8 and going to "Last Known Good Configuration" You can also
try running a system restore to rollback to before you were having the
issue. Finally you can reboot hit F8 boot into safe mode, go to control
panel and system, go into the device manager double-click on the video
card driver and roll it back to the previous version.
I do not think it is the monitor's connection since you would have not initially seen the Window's splash screen.
