SOURCE: What must be setting on wheel size if my bike

get a tape measure and measure the out side circunfrance of the wheel. This is you number. OR put a white dob of paint on the tyre and roll it in a strainght line until the dob of paint makes a 2nd mark, (on a path way etc) measure the distance. this will be the same as the first option. Generally its required in mm.

Or just put new batteries in both units and try again

I had this problem as well. What I found was that the transmitter path from the magnetic sensor to the computer is very narrow, a 15 degree cone. Reposition your computer to fall within this cone. It should pick up the signal.

SOURCE: Sigma BC 1609 Cadence Bicycle Speedometer reads my movement much slower than I am actually going. E.g. moving about 15, reads as 5 mph.

I had the same problem. It is caused because the mount is facing the wrong direction and your computer is swapping speed and cadence. 5 mph would mean 63 RPM of the wheel which probably what your pedal is actually doing. The wheel is actually turning at about 3 times that rate so if you check your cadence it is probably maxing out at 180 even though that wouldn't be possible.

To fix this, just twist your mount 180 degrees on your handlebars or stem and try again. That way the computer is correctly lined up with the mount.

The wheel size chart in the instruction manual does not include a tyre size of 700 x 54c (29 x 2.1) so I can't set it. Can you advise the setting requied?

It's in the manual. Measure the wheel size and enter it manually.

There's a picture of how to determine the circumference by rolling the wheel one revolution and measuring it. Be as accurate as you can (to the mm).

4. Wheel size BIKE 1

• Press MODE to change to BIKE 1.

• Press SET briefly and the first digit flashes.

• Set the value by pressing RESET, change to the next digit by pressing MODE.
• Bike 1 is always the bike with the handlebar holder WS 1

The speed mph varies widely even when the bike is going at a consistent pac. The computer will read 3 mph and then jump to 20 mph which the bike is just rolling without a big variation in speed.

The most likely cause is that the front wheel is a little loose. This causes the magnet on the spokes to pass the receiver on the bike frame at different distances. If it passes at more than 1 mm it won't be read so it is probably only reading some of the rotations of the wheel. The solution is to loosen the wheel and tighten the nuts inside the forks a little. When it's at the right tightness the weight of the wheel valve should be just able to turn the wheel until it reaches the bottom with the wheel raised off the ground. There should be very little or no sideways movement in the wheel. Also ensure that the magnet is not moving.

I have a sigma 1606l computor what is the wheel size setting. I have 650x23

you can measure your wheel by placing your bike on a flat surface with the valve stem on the wheel in the bottom most position or 6 o clock position. mark the floor where the valve stem is. now roll the bike forward so that the wheels gets one full revolution and the valve stem comes back to the 6 o clock position and mark the floor at the valve stem. now get a tape measure and measure the distance between your two marks. Convert this measurement to usually centimeters. that will be the number that put into your computer.

Change from mh to mph

Push bottom button until you see TRIP in bottom left corner of screen. Then go to the back, and push the small button and hold for about 3 seconds. The WS in the top will be blinking, and the number will be blinking. Push the bottom button to scroll through until KMH is blinking. Then push the top button, to toggle to MPH. Now... you will have to rest your wheel size on this screen (the numbers) go to Sigma sports website and get the manual, then look at your wheel size on the side of the tire, put in the correct number for your wheel size. Once all this is done, then turn over and push the small button for about a second for your changes to take effect. the screen will not be blinking now.
