SOURCE: No Sound Coming out my Microphone

This same thing happened to me. All I did was plug the mic into my keyboard, turned the mic volume to max, and turned the mic on. Then, I grabbed the part of the mic where the cord goes in, and started turning it. I turned it left and started hearing noise come out of the mic. I kept on doing this, until sound came out of the mic. I did this, and now the mic works again. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: cannot get laptop microphone working

Double click on the little speaker icon on the Desktop toolbar at the bottom right of your screen. The volume control window will open. Click on options then properties. Next check the small round recording button. Now make sure he microphone box is checked then click ok. Now a window will open that will show your microphone recording level. Move the slider up about half way and make sure to check the small "Select" box near the bottom of the slider. Open up sound recorder or whatever application you are using and try to record. If this does not work I would get an external microphone plug it into your laptop and try recording again. If the external mic works then I would think that you internal microphone is not working. There are some very cheap external mics on the market that sound very good. If you are doing any serius recording you may want to invest in a USB microphone. The USB mic should come with it's own software and setup should be pretty simple. I hope I have been helpful.

SOURCE: microphone

Inspect your computer to see if has a hole somewhere that might look like a microphone. If you want to find out for sure open up your windows sound recorder from Start - Program - Accesories - Entertainment. Hit the record button and talk or yell something if you would like. You should see recorded sound wave in the middle of your sound recorder. If you do not see the recorded waves this might mean that your microphone is turned off. To turn it on just Double click on the little speaker icon on your taskbar at the bottom right of your screen. The volume control window will open. Click on options then properties. Next check the small round recording button. Now make sure the microphone box is checked then click ok. Now a window will open that will show your microphone recording level. Move the slider up about half way and make sure to check the small "Select" box near the bottom of the slider. Open up sound recorder and try to record again. If this does not work you probably do not have a built in microphone. There are some very cheap external mics on the market that sound very good. If you are doing any serius recording you may want to invest in a USB microphone. The USB mic should come with it's own software and setup should be pretty simple. I hope I have been helpful.

I have a compaq 7500. Can you tell me where the microphone connection is. Also can microphones for this model still be purchased ?

This monitor doesn't have a speaker or microphone jack available on it. https://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00665774&tmp_task=useCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=313889
These ports will be located on your PC generally on the back. The microphone port will be either red or salmon color and typically have a picture of a microphone by it. Also microphones use a standard port for many many years and any will work just fine typically with no special software required.
Comment back with the model of your computer and I can help you locate the port.

Are you sure the game you are using the game is mic compatable. If it is here are some tips you can use to

Nintendo DS - Microphone not responding properly
Not all games use the Nintendo DSs built-in microphone. Consult the instruction manual of the game you are playing to be sure the game uses the microphone feature.

Specific games:
  • Need assistance with the voice recognition feature of Brain Age? Click here to read some tips we've come up with.
  • For help communicating with your dog in Nintendogs, click here for help.
  • Playing Metroid Prime Hunters on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and have questions or issues with Voice Chat? If so, please click here.
  • Playing Pokémon Pearl or Pokémon Diamond on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and have questions or issues with Voice Chat? If so, please click here.
  • Playing Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir and having issues with the microphone? If so, click here for assistance.

If you are still experiencing problems with the microphone, your system will need to be repaired.
