Check for a paper jam inside the paper feeder... There's something blocking the path that is why the 3-beep is activated. Also put lubricant to the head's round-bar, gears and levers.
Goodluck... Fixya me...

SOURCE: Canon 850 E001 Error
I entered service mode and it fixed itself.
With the front panel open and the copier lid/carriage lifted up, I used a paperclip and stuck it in the small hole on the center of the front grey panel (the covering of the DC controller) . I simultaneously used a pen to hold down the tab in the slot on the lower left edge that makes the copier think the lid is down...then I hit the power button. It reset the error code and all is OK now.

H5-01 indicates that you have 5 continous paper jam in a row. It's generated when one of the paper feed sensors did not detect the paper, in your case the sensor might be the one that located in the exit section ( POD1 ). This photo sensor might be just covered with paper dust in between the gap housing, the gap is only 1 mm wide. You can check the functioning of this sensor by entering the sim mode 30( main code), 1(sub mode). After entering this mode try activate the sensor by moving the plastic actuator, if the POD1 display highlighted on and off it means OK. To enter the simulation mode go to the copy mode and perform the following procedures.
[P] [*] [C] [*] [Main code] [START] [Sub code] [START]
But first reset the error H5-01 by entering 14(main code) then 1(sub code), you might be already fix the problem.

The only way to solve a Machine Error 38 is if there is an item/broken paper inside the machine that you can actually reach. Judging by the sound your machine seem to make, I'd rather guess that you got a mechanical error on your hands, which would require the machine to be sent to service to have it solved. Check for bits of paper or other loose items, otherwise - service.
