Look in main menu for set and or in audio menu---look to see speakers are not by accident switched to OFF--this can happen by accident.

Many times last night I had one were i had to go to someones house they had the jacks disconnected for the sound in the back lots of checking first make sure your audio cables are hooked and secure then see if someone has hit a button in the menue by accident also try hooking unit up to a dvd or play staition see if you have sound double check yourself so you dont pay someone to do something realy simple

No sound when i turn it on picture quality perfect. This is the first time this has happended

Befour you do anything check the menue make sure no one has turned your speakers off by accident in the menue go to audio their might be even a button on the remote someone might have hit by accident if this is all good try to unplug unit count to 10 then plug back in if that fails then if you are hooked up to a cable box you must make sure that is not your problem hook tv up to dvd or vcr see if you have sound still no sound then you have a problem with your sound module shop repair180-230

After I posted my related problem, I realized that there was one other thing that I had not tried to correct the sound problem. I had not tried unplugging the tv for a while. Well, I unplugged it for a short while then had sound when I plugged it back in. I do not know how I lost the sound but I'm glad it was an easy fix to get it back. Hope this works for anybody else with this same problem. Thank you. Brat8476
