Since waypoint entries are based on Latitude/Longitude, degrees, minutes and seconds .. by putting the waypoint entry in with the 'zero' at the end you are not correctly "plotting" .. if you entry is less than 6 digits .. precede the entry with zero(s)

the lcd is going out and will cost more to fix it then the cost of the gps....my advice is to get a new one from bestbuy and get the 4 yr performance service replacement plan so next time you have a problem like this they will replace it for free.

Is there an external antennae for the lms 527 combo available

  • No it does not. Lawrance often makes either external or internal GPS units. This is an internal antenna unit only model. Hope this helps.

Hi,when i switch on my lms-332c the map does not come up on the screen. If I remove and replace the map card it works perfectly. Can I fix this? regards nigel

I am guessing that the card you are using is a NAVIONICS chart? There have been some Lowrance units that were made around the same time that have had problems recognizing a Navionics chart right from power up.

Make sure the LMS-332 has the latest firmware version which can be downloaded from http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Marine/Full-Size-SonarGPS-Chartplotter-Combos/LMS-332C/Downloads/LMS-332C-Software-Update/

If the update doesn't help, this is going to be a compatibility problem with the LMS-332 and that particular card. You will need to replace the card or upgrade to a newer unit...but probably can just get used to removing and replacing the card when you turn the unit on.

My Lowrance LMS-337c df keeps going crazy.

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 st1:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;}This could be caused by glitch in the operating systemsoftware or by low voltage due to a short in the unit or somewhere in the boatswiring. To troubleshoot the problem Iwould recommend the following steps.

  1. Try a soft reset
  2. If the problem resurfaces, try a hard reset
  3. Update the the operating system software

Soft Reset (Does not delete GPSData)
1. Turn unit OFF 2. Press and holdthe PAGES key
3. Press and hold the PWR key
4. Release both buttons when the USA map
Appears

Hard Reset (Deletes stored GPS Data
such as Waypoints and trails)
1. Back up any waypoints, routes, and trails that you want to save on a blank MMC card
2. Turn unit OFF
3. Press and hold the ZIN&ZOUTKeys at
the same time
4. Pressand hold the PWR key
5. Release both buttons when the USAmap
appears

To update the operating system software, check out this link:

If you don't have a card reader I can program an update card for you.

Unit not working properly

G'day
I had a similar problem of the unit turning off when the engine was started.
I simply replaced the battery as the one one boat was only registering about 11 amps. This unit requires amps to be over 12 to maintain the readings. This fixed my problem at least.
If you are not getting a reading on the transducer you may need to make some slight adjustment on the transducer itself. Is it installed correctly? There is a manaul with pictures detailing the exact method of installing the transducer. It is very important you get this right.
Good luck mate

Gps

I have a manual for this unit but i'm still using mine so not willing to sell it to you. I'm in Melbourne and you're welcome to borrow it for a week or so or i could probably photocopy/scan certain sections for you and email them if it helps. Let me know if you still need it by emailing me at joshklat@hotmail.com

Cheers,
Josh
