Did you make sure you that

  1. Your router LAN port supports GB Ethernet?
  2. You are using at least CAT5 cable? Try 5e or 6 if you have one. I've seen issues with older cables, where only 4 pairs where punched through (GB needs all 8 pairs)
  3. you checked the settings on the TPlink (especially Autonegotiation?)
let me know

Installed a tg 3269 Gigabit PCI Network adapter then when I connected it to the WD My Net N750 router the computer crashed now it wont turn on

Take card out. See if computer boots. If it does then there is probably an IRQ conflict or your card/computer are too old.

I need a tp-link gigabit pci-e network driver driver for windows 98

Go to the website of the manufacturer and you should find the driver for it. if there's no compatible driver, then contact them.
After installing the driver into your computer, make sure to keep them updated so that your computer will perform well. You can use RadarSync.

Network Driver

A network driver will just keep your computer to communicate with the internet and it has nothing to do with the speed and strength of your internet. For that, you need to contact your internet service provider.

If you want to optimize your computer's performance to its best though, you can download and install RadarSync. It is driver updater which can make your computer up to date. However, just like what I just indicated earlier that it won't affect the speed of your internet. RadarSync can do a lot of things that are automated and can keep your computer to automatically fix driver problems.

I hope this helps.
