    also 5100 warning.

Problem : cartridges didn't go automatically to the full right or left anymore.

Solution : opened the cover to enable me to take the cartridges out and put them back.

Switched the printer off and on.

Pushed the cartridges to the full right.

Switched printer off and on again.

    Printer worked again.

My cannon mx300 is giving me an alarm code 5100

5100 means either the carriage is not moving freely back and forth or there is grease or ink on the encoder strip. You can clean that clear plastic strip behind the carriage with a Q-tip, but also check on the right and left side for paper scraps stopping the carriage.

Error message 5100 on Canon MX300 printer

If the ink cartridges are stuck you can manually slide them back to their default position and check for paper or junk which may have slipped down the paper chute and is blocking the ink cartridges.
Remove the blockage
Reset Printer
Done
I just had this problem and it was easy to fix.
If this not help, buy another printer! Cheaper than service...

Alarm = check printer 5100

Hi,
This error means that there is something obstructing the printing process. Check inside your printer through the gears that you can see under the lid. There should be something obstructing the gears such as dirt or even some paper caught underneath the rollers that you have to jiggle around to even see. Check very thoroughly..

Hope this helps

Can not use my scanner on my mx300

It assume to be Canon Pixma MX300 Office All in one printer.

It may be due to incomplete installation of the All In One printer. Please check for the Device manager and also reinstall the printer with its installation CD.
