MFC-8890dw document jam

After removing two stapled pages from the document feeder (by pulling them out back to where they came from), I get the error "Document Jam" and a message saying to clear the jam and press Stop. I cannot find any paper anywhere in the document feeder. I can feed stiff paper through it, but that doesn't help. I can print, but not select Copy or Fax. Power cycling (disconnect from AC for a few minutes) doesn't help. Resetting the printer did not help. Might the paper sensor have been damaged or dislodged? How can I check that?

If it is not resetting then either there is still something on a sensor or you did something to a sensor by accident.

SOURCE: KEEPS FLASHING DOCUMENT JAM!

check these locations carefully
1- where you feed the documents there is a sensor lever to detect a document, look carefully and push on it gently it should go back in place ( spring action)
2-before the drum there should be one
3- there is one in the fuser, YOU MUST look for the sensor usually after a jam a piece of paper is torn off and left on the sensor ( hopefully it was not broken off)

SOURCE: brother 2820 Says clear scanner jam and press stop

Make sure there is nothing caught where the documents go it. List up the scanner cover and look inside. It may need a separator pad or clean the feed rollers with some alcohol. Lawrence

PIXMA MX330 Error message "Document in

Hello,
The sensor may be dirty even if it looks like there is no paper jam. Take a bottle of compressed air and give it a once over. Make sure you don't shake or tip the compressed air as you don't want to fast freeze anything.
If this does nothing, you probably have a failed sensor which will need replacing.

Note: The document may not feed properly depending on the media type, or your environment, such as when the temperature and humidity are either too high or too low.
In this case, reduce the number of document pages to approximately half of the loading capacity. Another alternative is to scan from the platen glass

Will it be able to scan on adf

Yes, the MFC-240C can scan up to 10 pages through the automatic document feeder. Just make sure the pages you scan aren't stuck together or stapled, or they will jam.

Paper Jam whilst doing a multi page scan

The rollers that pull the paper through could need a cleaning. With general usage these parts do get worn down. By having your printer cleaned by certified technician it would resolve this problem.

Bad Scan Quality Using Brother MFC-7820N Document Feeder

Look to the left side of the flatbed glass for a thin strip of glass by itself. When you scan from the glass, the document stays put and the sensor moves across the document. When you scan from the feeder, the sensor stays in that glass strip and the document moves across the sensor. See what I mean? I would check the small feeder glass for dirt or scratches from staples or other flotsam. Also not a bad idea to blow out the feeder path with some compressed air to ensure the documents is handled smoothly. Hope this helps!

Document Feeder jams

I got adventurous and removed the screws holding the document feeder. I then used a can of air and blew into the gears and then reassembled the feeder. It works perfectly.
